have you ever wanted the blades to be more... player accessi

Post » Tue Dec 06, 2011 2:20 am

I tried to talk with many members of the blades. most said. I'm too busy or something like that.

and the only few quests you get to actually do for the blades are main quests?

does anyone else feel like the blades should have been more accessible? or am I asking too much?

none of these "skilled fighters" even sells anything or grants training in any skills.

just an observation that bothered me to no end.

I suppose there's already the Fighter's Guild for combat characters. It would have been nice to be more involved, but I guess the developers wouldn't want the quests to feel all the same.

The Blades virtually played the same kind of roll in the last iteration of The Elder Scrolls,
Spoiler
join them only to be given jobs towards the main quest
. Although, I agree that it would be interesting to see them as a fully playable guild all their own.
Some feel that having a playable Imperial Legion guild would have been nice too.

I would have definitely enjoyed that. Even small things like you said about bartering and training would have been nice. And while I'm one who wanted them too function as a full blown guild (as well as the imperial watch) I could have been satasfyed with just a couple side quests given by your blade brothers to help you feel like you're more a part of things. And as for most people being too busy to talk to the savior of their emporer? I find that unacceptable.

Well, in case nobody noticed, the Elder Scrolls games (up to this point) have been about Uriel Septim's intrigues, and the agents who are sent out to work for him. In a way, the Blades are "the main quest faction."

Well yeah thats clearly true but even in morrowind (the only other TES game I've played and therefore the only one I can referance) you ranked up, and trained with your blade guildmates and the conversations were some of my favorites. It's not so much a simple quest giver I want out of the blades just a little more depth would be nice, ya'know.

It would have been nice if they'd behaved a bit more like they did in Morrowind, where there's a network of Blades across the province that are willing to provide little-old-you with some services at a discounted price. Made you feel more like you were a part of something. Cloud Ruler Temple really did need a trader and someone providing repair services, though. Maybe even some trainers, and people that could provide you with a couple of side quests.
