Have you pre-ordered the game? If not, why not?

I'm going to pre-order it on Steam but it hasn't shown up on Steam yet so I can't.

hey if I preorder then can I still pick it up the day it is released, also if I can do that do I have to be over 17 to pick it up?

The point of pre-ordering is to get it the day it's released without having to worry about it being sold out. If the store your buying it form actually cares about regulations then you have to be 17 in order to pick it up.

@ OP you could have made the platform question multichoice - I would like a 360 version and a PC version

Am not pre-ordering - while I'm concerned about bugs being problems due to the rush to meet the 11.11.11 deadline - I'm more concerned what draconian DRM might be used - if Skyrim needs steam activation I'll give the PC copy a miss and follow the 360 Bug fix forum for a while to see how stable it is.

Witcher 2 removed their DRM to give the players a better experience.
I'm sure Beth will do the same with Skyrim if it came to that.. as in DRM would actually have negative impact on performance.

Will wait until 11-11-11 after school to get my copy and play all weekend.
No need to pre-order, MW3 will keep Skyrim in the shadows, nobody except me and a few other people will grab a copy of Skyrim instead of that hoax game.
Oh [censored], I forgot RAGE and BF3 too, not hoax games though.

The have never removed the DRM in their games - why would they start now?

I agree - I'll wait to see the level of issues and then vote with my money...

Well I don't want to be out 65 bucks now if the world ends on October 31 the way that guy said its supposed to. That'll be my Jesus bribing money, although if Jesus were to get an advanced copy of Skyrim and some MD Voltage he might delay the rapture a few years. But yeah ill probably get the game for Xbox 360, upgrade my PC over the holidays and then buy Skyrim for the PC, or maybe even wait for a GOTY edition for PC thay way the mods will have come out.

The release is still far away so I haven't felt like it's a matter of great urgency to pre-order the game yet. Maybe in the next 2 months. Pre-ordering super early only seems practical if you want the collector's edition as they are in limited supply. I am kind of curious to see what is going to be included in the collector's edition but in my opinion they never look like they are worth the extra money so I will probably just stick with the standard release version for the Xbox 360.

If I could join only one guild then it would be the fighters guild. Or The Companions. Whatever they are calling it now.

I'll wait for word on bugs and/or patch - I will NEVER again pay extra to be a "Beta tester" for quality control

They're not THAT buggy. I finished Oblivion and Morrowind main quests(and loads of side quests) before I patched them. And I didn't have any trouble.

I'm going to pre-order it on Steam but it hasn't shown up on Steam yet so I can't.

This.

Whats with all the votes for Dark Brotherhood?
I understand that some people actually like the guild, sure. But its stained by the touch of posers(now I'm not pointing fingers).
I just wish people would vote for the guild they actually liked, rather than what they are being told to like.
I didn't see much love for the Morag Tong from Morrowind.

No.
Maybe.
Xbox 360.
Fighter's Guild.
I'll probably end up getting a PC copy once the game of the year edition is released and I get a gaming PC.

Not yet. I'm gonna wait for the E3 roundup to decide which games I'm going to pre-order and do them all at once. I'm thinking Skyrim, Rage, Arkham city and then maybe one more. Deus Ex: HR maybe, despite never playing a Deus Ex before. Also, AC: Revelations. I'm only gonna pick two or three though. Also, put in an option for buying Skyrim on 360 and PC. I'm gonna get it for 360 and then PC when I buy a decent one.

What are you talking about?

I voted DB because I loved the guild in Oblivion, BTW. I would play as an honorable, completely good person... if the Dark Brotherhood hadn't been so damn fun. :D

I have no plans to preorder right now. Unless something is announced that will alleviate my doubts / concerns about the game, I am thinking about renting it first. If I like it, though, not only will I buy the game, but I will buy the CE and / or the GOTY edition for both xbox and pc.

I agree with most above, the release date is too far away and there is a lot that can go wrong with this game.
