I'm with about 95% of people here, I will probably get the collectors edition or whatever it will be. Depends if I have enough money closer to the day I suppose. ^_^

I will not pre-order until it is confirmed from Bethesda that Steam is not required. I hate what Steam did to CIV V. I am fine with people liking and using Steam. I want to own my licensed copy of the game (notice I said "copy"). If Steam was used for initial installation only to protect against piracy I would be OK with this. Unfortunately, however, Valve, the company that owns Steam, wants an endless relationship with you and treats a software copy as a service rather than a product.

No, I'm waiting for the collector's edition. Yes, I will pre-order it before release. I will be buying the PS3 version. I chose the (equivalent of the) Fighter's Guild.

I won't buy the game until I know it doesn't require Steam.

And if it does, I'll never buy the game :/

I'm feeling you, I do so dislike Steam.
Games on PC should be required to be non-requiring any additinoal software to play it, seriously.

This. Assuming:

A. No horribly unfortunate info at E3, and
B. There's a nifty physical thing in the CE that I would like to have. I like things like coins. Not interested in cloth maps.

If B turns out to not be true, than I will get the boxed regular edition, probably some time after release rather than preorder tho.

I will not pre-order until it is confirmed from Bethesda that Steam is not required.

In my case, I will not pre-order until it becomes available on Steam.

Have you pre-ordered the game? If not, why not?

Speaking for myself, I've not yet pre-order the game because I don't see the point in it yet.
Perhaps if pre-ordering the game would give you something awesome, I would consider it.

I most likely find a place where I can buy the game digital and download it. Then I don't have to check my mailbox all the time for my pre-order.

My mind was made up when I saw the gameplay trailer. however, it won't be available for pre-order on Steam until a couple months before 11.11.11

then I will buy it - hopefully some kind of digital premium edition with digital soundtrack, etc.

EDIT: @OP you might want to edit the poll regarding guild choices. There is no Mage's Guild and there is probably no Fighter's Guild.

Only confirmed factions are as follows:
Thieves' Guild
DB
The Companions
College of Winterhold
Necromancers (might not be joinable)
Racist Nord Faction (might not be joinable)

Not yet. Waiting to see what kind of hoops I must jump through to activate the thing. If it requires the internet, forget it. Also, I’m not too enthusiastic about jumping in head first after the FONV stuff. I would rather play the game, not try to repair it - so I may just sit back and see what happens 11Nov11.

I usually find that I get it faster by just going to the store.

I preordered early, so I get the goodies on priority if there are any goodies to get! And if not... well... still got a copy saved for me!

I will Pre-order for the 360 but I'm waiting for them to release the info on the Collector's Edition. I generally don't get CE versions but for TES I just can't pass it up.

I haven't and I probably won't since I usually never pre-order games.

Plus I don't know if it'll be censored in Germany, like Fallout 3, so I have to get that info first. If it's censored I'll probably pre-order the uncensored Austrian version, otherwise I'd prefer to buy it in a store.

I'll wait to see if there's a collectors' edition, and what it entails. If it's not worth it i'll just buy it on release date.

I hardly ever pre-order games because I work in a games store and they hold back new releases for me if I want them on the day of release. Now THAT is a sweet job.

I haven't preordered it yet because I'm waiting for the Collector's edition to be announced. On that day I'll head to Gamestop and preorder it.

One guild, certainly the Thieves guild or The Dark Brotherhood would be my pick.
