Have you read the forum rules?

Where's the option for "Yes before I created my account"?

That would be "Just yes"---everything aside from "after i created my account" is included in that option.

Who reads the rules or TOS or any of that? My general rule is don't act like a dike, if you do expect to be kicked out.

Wait. What? There are rules?

How come nobody tells me these things - I've just been winging it for a year.

Yes I have, every single word. If I remember correctly it was because I disagreed with a moderator and I was going to shove the rules in his/her face to prove that I was right.

That didn't happen. Not because I was wrong (I'm never wrong) but because the rules were wrong.

That too, I even found a few but decided it was best not to push it :P

I remember Princess Stomper posted an edited picture of herself. Someone proceeded to point out that it was against forum rules. :lmao:

Yeah, I read them. Then I forgot them the day after. Now I just post whatever I think is reasonable.

It does, all I see is a set of stars:

*********

Interesting... does it also do that with my credit card information, social security number, phone number and bank account?

Yeah I'm going to stop this now before some idiot actually tries this.

I almost never read any forum rules. My common sense (or lack of it) usually prevails.

Yes, a few times actually. But not for a while after I joined. I finally decided to read them when I discovered, via a friend getting banned, that calling someone a troll was a warnable offense. I know two people who were warned because they called someone a troll. So after that I figured "Damn, I better look for any more odd things in these rules."

Seriously, how many of you people who haven't ever read the rules knew that you'd get warned for calling someone a troll? I certainly would have never guessed it.

I didn't at first, I just used common sense.

Then I was bored one day and was like, "okay."

Then I read them again sometime between then and now.

Would it be the same as calling someone a troll if you said something like "get out from under the bridge and join out intelligent conversation"?

Just curios, vote and have your say.

I did when I first signed up, and every once in a while I look at them incase they are updated.

I haven't read them. I don't act up or do anything that would generally warrant a warning or whatnot, and that's seemed to work all right for me til now. Common sense, really.

We have some odd rules. For example, saying that is kinda against the rules.

I read the rules when I joined, then read them again when they were updated and then at some point read them over and over and over and rewrote and read again.

We do agree to abide by them when we join. Fortunately the moderators here will often pm someone about breaking a rule prior to ever giving them a formal warning but after you have been here a while we sure do assume you should have read them by then and at least have a good understanding of them if only because we often quote and reference them in threads that you all participate in. But it really would make our jobs a bit easier if everyone read them and reviewed them from time to time.

And of course you can't call someone a troll. You can't call them silly, a loser, stupid, a lunatic or even a sissy. We don't allow namecalling of anything here. And since some folks didn't seem to think calling someone a troll was namecalling we used that one as an example of what not to call folks because it's...well, namecalling and thus a flame. :)

Exception to the rule: You may call Attrebus mancandy.

Yes.

Once when I joined, and once when I got a friendly warning from one of our lovely moderators which made me want to make sure I had the rules down.

97.4% of the time using common sense makes rules unimportant, though.
