Have you read the forum rules?

Post » Wed Dec 23, 2009 10:54 pm

When I joined 'NO', when I became very active in summer of '09', bits and pieces. I never read anything, even agreement, I'll take consequences unless I did something where I think I'm right, then I'll defend my reasons. I'm not perfect and probably signed my soul away to the devil, oh well.

And of course you can't call someone a troll. You can't call them silly, a loser, stupid, a lunatic or even a sissy. We don't allow namecalling of anything here. And since some folks didn't seem to think calling someone a troll was namecalling we used that one as an example of what not to call folks because it's...well, namecalling and thus a flame. :)

It would be nice if we could point out when a person was obviously trolling without fear of being banned though.

Its a cooperative dictatorship.

We must show support for the commisariat, comrade.

I read the rules when I joined, then read them again when they were updated and then at some point read them over and over and over and rewrote and read again.

When moderators and Admin edit the rules, how will we know if they got updated? The reason why I ask is, when you guys edit a post, it doesn't show "This post has been edited by 'member's name': Date"

Rohugh: Yes it does (if we want it to). :)

I did read them when i first joined. I agreed I read. I was actually surprised about how strict it was here then I realized visiting other forums how necessary the rules are here. What id like to know is the kind of things that would get you banned instantly. Because that can happen. I mean starting a forbidden topic, flaming or trolling is one warning. I can't imagine what youd have to do to get banned instantly.

Ok, in the forum rules it was posted in summer of '07', the last post shows the edit by Summer but does this count for the whole thread?

That 15 March 2010 is the latest update of the rules?

I know my question may be stupid but just curious, thats all.

Rules? What are these rules you speak of?

On topic, I've glanced but I mainly catch on from other forum goers mistakes!

Maybe give newcomers a quiz on the forum rules before posting.

Exception to the rule: You may call Attrebus mancandy.

No, he scares me, plus his picture is labeled hitman.jpg.

That would be cool...

and now the final question,

Who is indisputably the most important person on the forums: He who shelters us from the harshness of the interwebs, and to whom we owe everything we have, including our lives?

I still think your avatar is the second most creepy avatar on the forums. (The first one being mainframe)

EDIT: Mainframe's old avatar that is.. the gif image. Creepy stuff

Wait. What? There are rules?

How come nobody tells me these things - I've just been winging it for a year.
Your secret is safe with us :ninja:

I checked the rules. Social Engineering isn't mentioned :P
neither is penguin torture or elephant throwing..

Exception to the rule: You may call Attrebus mancandy.
Oh crap if this is ever made a standing rule.. I'll leave this one up to the ladies
Besides, I doubt Attrebus is waiting for the likes of me to start calling him 'mancandy' and if he is, then the word desperate comes to mind :D

I've made boo-boo's, and been given a friendly whack upside the head as warning
Sometimes I think -oops, and quickly edit hoping I'm forgiven the errors of my way.

I will poke fun at anyone though, and even try to keep remarks in reasonably good questionable taste, rank not with standing
This sometimes bombs as well unfortunately..

What? You never heard of Dr. J W Zenimax? He is a great science fiction writer, and Terms and Conditions is his best seller. It covers a story of people trying to use spiders to establish deep links to their inner self (called the "third party") in order to augment their hacking and cracking ability before the termination of their lives.

Before I joined I lurked for while and got a good idea about the rules, though I still made sure to read them after joining because I'm a good boy.

Yes I have, every single word. If I remember correctly it was because I disagreed with a moderator and I was going to shove the rules in his/her face to prove that I was right.

That didn't happen. Not because I was wrong (I'm never wrong) but because the rules were wrong.

Yep, no longer is it a warnable offense to put an "e" at the end of "potato."

Yes, I read them right after creating my account. After reading them, I felt as if they were secretly trying to tell me something, perhaps in the form of sublimal messe... must... kill... Adoring... Fan...
