Having a great time online.

The only other FPS experience I have ever had was with the first Halo on the original Xbox. I'm not savvy when it comes to these games. In fact I just got a PS3 last holiday season. I got Crysis 2 on launch day and played through 90% of the campaign in about a week - yeah, my skills stink. I never had played anything online until I decided to give the multi-player a try. I am about to reach level 30! I mostly got brutalized early on and only a few times have I ever been a top scorer and then only on my team. When I started, 2 kills for 10+ deaths was the norm and to be honest I got frustrated from time to time. I still have some bad games, but a lot of time I break even (~7-8 kills, 7-8 deaths) and even have some decent games. Today I had a 12 to 2 game. The game is very tactical and I find that as I become more aware of the tools and less ham-fisted I'm getting better and having a good time. ;-)

Glad you are liking it, its a pretty solid game, other than the occasional bugs here and there.

I have encountered a few bugs, but they have been very few. I am almost level 30 and I have lost connection only three times. I have experienced a little of what I think people refer to as lag, but it hasn't been all encompassing. My connection is also pretty slow. I played about ten matches two days ago and my K/D ratio was around 3 so the minimal issues, for me anyway, haven't ruined the experience. I think that the majority of my difficulties have been the result of my being a complete noob with FPS games. I am becoming more aware in the game and also with the perks (think that is the term people use) and it is yielding results. I probably should go back and finish the campaign, but I'm having too much fun in multiplayer, even when I get "worked." Thanks for the reply Uggazew. I'm a noob, so I can't compare the game to anything else, but I am having fun. Happy gaming friend and thanks again for the reply.

Thanks Gazaa90. Maybe we'll have the opportunity to kill one another someday. ;-)

When everyone has at least 3 bars this game is a blast. When it ranges from 4 bars, (host), to 1 bar, it's a massacre and laggy mess. If Crysis 2 had dedicated servers it would probably be some of the best MP on the market.

Were early adopters, so hopefully as the game matures and more people discover it, we'll see the majority of the issues addressed. I have been lucky in that I have nothing to compare it to and or my glitches/problems have been few. I am playing on a PS3, so am not sure about "bars" and hosting. I am using a 1.5Mb internet service, would the experience be better with a faster service? I haven't seen a lot of what I think people term "lag." There has been some, but not a lot.

Gaming online actually uses a surprisingly small amount of bandwidth. Upload speed is often more important than download. 1.5 is pretty damn slow for gaming to be honest. However, I know people with slow Internet and they absolutely r***d in Black Ops. For whatever reason. their crappy connections were a huge advantage in that game, (they were average players in most other games). So perhaps your 1.5 isn't really a hindrance in this game either.

Next time you're in a game look at the scoreboard. The host will have 4 green bars and if he's on your team it can be a big help. If I have less than 3 bars I quit and find a new game as I know I will probably be annihilated. I need at least 3 to be competitive.
