Im having a new problem.......

I installed daggerfall a while ago... Full install, so I'm able to play wtihout my CD.
I actualy know where my CD is, but it will take me forever to obtain it again..
How can I re-sintall the game through dosbox to fix the bugs without my cd??? I can play the game through windows without my cd right now but yeah, to start over and re-install it through dosbox do I need my cd?? Stressing out.
thx

You won't be able to reinstall Daggerfall without the CD, but you could copy the Daggerfall folder to another folder on your C: drive, name it "games" for example then mount the Folder with DosBox and run Daggerfall from there.

EDIT: I think it still won't work because you will need the .VID files from the Daggerfall CD copied to your Dagger\Arena2 directory for the videos to play. Daggerfall might crash when it can't find any .VID files.

Open Z.CFG in C:\games\DAGGER with notepad and make sure that both PATH and PATHCD say c:\dagger\arena2\ and then save the file.

DosBox Commands
****************

mount c c:\games

C:

CD Dagger

Fall.EXE Z.CFG

I'm not 100% sure it'll work, but its worth a try.

It works very nicely...
My stress is releaved.
Hopefully I can find the quest letter i need to switch for the old one now..

Are they guaranteed to be in a chest or wardrobe? or do I usualy have to pickpocket to obtain/.switch things?

thanks again

No problem ;) I'm not sure where you'll find the quest letter.

BTW: Open dosbox.conf with notepad, scroll down to the bottom where it says - # Lines in this section will be run at startup. copy the Dosbox commands there. Then everytime you start DosBox daggerfall will start with it.

mount c c:\games

C:

CD Dagger

Fall.EXE Z.CFG

Thanks, but not unfortunately it's not.
I am running through dosbox... maybe the problem is that I got the quest while running in Windows?

Yeah that's a well know bug caused by running daggerfall under winXP/vista, maybe fixsave could help. Not sure if this kind of bug can be repaired by fixsave but it's worth a shot.
