Having a problem with scripts

I'm having a problem with certain Mods that run scripts. A good example is Fenrir and Midas. Mods that run OBSE have no issues for whatever reason, ie Deadly Reflex. Midas spells dont always work. Sometimes they work great. Other times the spells have issues. Certain companions like fenrir act weird as well. When you activate him, its supposed to shift him from follow to stay. But this doesn't always work. Sometimes it works, while other times it does nothing. Other companion dogs have similar issues (Chorrol Petshop, Shadow, cheydinhal petshop before I removed it..). Im not really sure if its a mod conflict or just too many scripts at once. Any idea how to troubleshoot it? The only one that really bothers me is Midas because I never really know when a spell will decide to stop working. Any help is appreciated.

I've occasionally had the problem of Midas spells not working correctly. Stuff like that is usually due to too many things trying to happen at the same time - doesn't have to be just scripts. If there are a lot of actors in the vicinity, that can cause problems for both the script processor and the AI processor. A big clue is if you find enemies either just standing there and ignoring you, or running into you rather than attacking.

I've also noticed in my game that after a while (an hour or so), Oblivion just slows down, and if I save, quit, and reload, it's back to normal again. It's as if scripts and stuff that was running in areas I had previously visited in that session are still running.

I suspected it was something similar. Saving and reloading usually fixes it, or just transitioning to another area. The random nature of it would point to the too many things at once scenario. Thanks for the input.
