Having Some Issues with Shadows

Post » Sun Jan 17, 2016 10:51 pm

I really need to get around to posting more so I can post links :/ I have a 40 second clip on my youtube channel Zero-G Gaming but basically it seems like every 7-10 seconds or so, the shadows on trees or objects suddenly "jump" to the side a bit, then move smoothly, then jump again. An NPC walks by and their shadow doesn't jump as the others do though, so I'm a bit perplexed. I really don't understand anything about this though, and since I'm new to modding and have oodles of mods I'm sure I've got some conflicts or clutter in there somewhere lol.

If anyone has some recommended .ini tweaks I can use for smoother shadows that would be great, I have a fairly decent rig that should be able to handle most settups, though I generally prefer performance when it comes to shadows.

Thank you for any help and sorry for not being able to just post the video instead.

Sounds like its due to the games day/night cycle which is quite quick. If you stare at shadows you will see them do this every few seconds to match the suns movement

The only real solution would be to have a longer day/night cycle or not have the shadows follow the sun. Having the shadows move gradually looks even weirder; like you're in a time-lapse video.
