Having trouble killing Argamir

Post » Sat Mar 20, 2010 6:40 pm

I'm in the crypt and faced with Argamir and his henchmen. Any tips on the best way to take care of the two of them?

Concentrate on Argamir, he is unarmoured, but has Debaser. Do anything to kill him quickly, spells, whatever, if you have any poisons, use them. pick up the sword and use it on the armoured guy. Try not to waste time blocking, Debaser's enchantment affects you anyway at full effect.

They are both Nords-They both have no fire resistances. Boost your Fatigue and Magicka through potions, to survive a blow from Debaser and being weakened by the enchantments it has.Use the crypt interior for defence.
Be sure to explore the crypt and get the shovel before you leave.

Cast a command humanoid spell on one of them to fight for you, then disappear and buff your nails. When their fight is over, the one survivor will be badly wounded. Summon a clannfear to finish him off as you disappear again to brush your hair or have a sip of appleberry juice. You ARE a mage, right?

How do you know if you're doing a good job buffing and brushing if you're invisible?

One thing that I should warn you. There is a pretty decent Blunt Weapon that will make your life unconfortable if Agarmir gets it.

Now that we got that bit of info out of the way, The easiest way to beat Agarmir is to focus on him 1st. He won't have armor on but his shortsword swings like a longsword and the effects can be a problem. Also since he's a Nord watch out for his Frost Touch spell and he may use his Shield spell. The other guy won't be a problem.

...Which actually isn't a half bad idea. That, or a claymore, whichever you're more proficient with. With some fancy footwork, you can well out-range Agarmir with a warhammer or claymore. Neither he nor his buddy use any magic, IIRC.

Another thing that can be done in preparation for the fight is to buy up some healing and respite potions. Agarmir's sword, Debaser, is rough because it lowers your base Health and Fatigue by draining your stats (hence the name). If you're getting clobbered, hit the menu and quaff a few potions to stay in the fight.

Speaking of potions, how about poisons? Even if you're a novice Alchemist, you can make a couple poisons to wear him down. Rat Meat + Bonemeal will make a Damage Fatigue poison to use on him. Nightshade + Wisp Stalk will make a Damage Health poison.
