Havok friendly Bobble-Heads Modders Resource

Post » Sat May 28, 2011 12:56 pm

Thank you :D I found a few more items to think about, but I will save them for tomorrow :P Every time I fine a few and post them, I find more lol

I am sure I will see you on the New Vegas forums about a week after the release date. To date, I own every add on for morrowind, every one for Oblivion, every one for Fallout 3, and I have fallout trilogy (fallout, fallout 2 and fallout tatics). So yeah, count me in for Vegas as well :foodndrink:

I am heading to bed now, but I shall talk to you tomorrow I am sure  Oh! And don't feel rushed at all, my new home mod will be waiting longer anyways...a birdy told me there will be something new being made, so I have to add that in there as well :D Good night, sleep well and don't let the modding bug bite!

No trouble, I don't feel rushed.

I like to tell people that my modding team consists of me and my two cats. One only wants me to love him, the other wants to mash the keyboard. :banghead: Honestly there not all that much help. :swear: I don't have the time or the energy to try to work on two mods. This is why I can't continue DCInteriors if I want to start a new Project.

I'm a Mac guy, I only installed windows on my "Pro Mac" once I learned of mods and, that the DLC's wouldn't be coming to PS3 until later in the year. I've also played the mac ports of FO1 and, FO2, they changed the face of gaming for me.

I'm enjoying our little conversation, I've also got to go to bed my mom is coming into town tomarrow so, I've got to show her a good time.

Good night and, we'll talk after mom goes home.

Edit: Why are we the only ones that care about this S**T?

*waves to harmy52* Glad you stopped in :D I sorta felt I was hogging CevSteel all to myself in this tread lol

@ CevSteel - I found some more items to consider but again, only bolding the ones that I would use in this mod:

Folder01
(I wanted one of these folders, but can't remember which one it was, but it had the tab in the middle)
Folder02
Microscope
RoadBlock01
AssortedPapers01
Mannequin01
Mannequin02
Mannequin05
MopBucket01

I hope you and your mother had a nice time today! Cats are great, I prefer them over dogs cause they are quieter and they don't need to be walked. We have a cat that has adopted us. It was a stray (I think) and just started coming by more and more. We let him into the house and he ended up moving right in lol Animals like me for some reason, even the ones that I have been told that they don't like anyone lol

I first learned how to use a computer on an "apple" computer...still remember that green screen lol. I have done most of my self taught learning on windows pc, but that is only cause they are easier for the pc games that I play.

Totally understandable about wrapping up DCInteriors. There are so many times I can work on the same project before I just have to call it quits and say it is done. Two of my best mods (one for oblivion and one for fallout 3) I have abandoned and other people have re-uploaded them. I make it known that those are as is, and that I just can't bring myself to make any further improvements. I guess I get frustrated with the things I can work with in the G.E.C.K. and wish I had more options. Thankfully we have creative modders of all sorts that make things easier! :woot:

P.S. We can't be the only ones, out of close to 300 people that have clicked on this thread. I know I haven't clicked on it 150 times to make a reply

This! It can be very disheartening to have a very clear vision of what you want and not be able to get it.

Tell me about it lol!! I can't tell you how many projects went scrapped cause there wasn't a room piece that I needed, or an item that didn't match or play nice with the rest of the items. As many times as I get frustrated though, I still have fun doing it, so I guess I can't complain :D

lol!! I am an eavesdropper myself in most threads here. I really don't post as often as I should, but I try to be there when someone really needs help and I can offer it.

We are going to have to think of a way to keep this thread going when the project is done :ninja:

I envy scripting people such as yourself. They can turn a simple object into a very interesting piece lol As a matter of fact, I envy so many people on these forums, from the creature/npc creators, to the meshers, to the quest makers and so on. So many talented people, that is for sure!

Meh, almost everyone can learn how to script. It just takes longer for some then others. Creativity however can't be learned.

I was really just kidding when I said "are we the only people who care about thie" I was just trying to prod some others into getting into the conversation.

I just took a close look at the items in your list. I don't see many problems with havoking them up.

Gurney01,

I'll do both the broken and unbroken with no shadows

Vault87Signkeepout
Vault101Sign
Vault101Sign0
Vault101Sign02
Vault87Signkeepout
VacuumTubeLight
RoadBlock01
MopBucket01, Would you like more than one size for the bucket?

Consider them done. :celebration:

Folder01
Folder02,

I'll do both folders.

Microscope,

it's already done in DCInteriors.

AssortedPapers01,

It Only textured on one side so unless I can figure out how to add a texture to the back I don't think it will work.

Mannequin01
Mannequin02
Mannequin05
MopBucket01

I'll add hovok to all them mannequins.

Oh whoops, I forgot to check the other side to the papers. Forget about that one then :) The mop bucket size doesn't really matter, I will have to check to see if the mop fits into the bucket though and let you know if I need it a bigger size. It irks me that I can't put dishes into the sinks cause of the boxed collision it has, and I never checked to see if the bucket is set up the same way. I will get back to you on that tonight :)

I kinda figured that you would have had the microscope havoked if you had the test tubes havoked, so I will grab that from DCInteriors as well :D

All the things I found for you, I am sure I am going to see a nice hefty bill in the mail for your services  But all kidding aside, I like to help out when I can! Hey, you asked!

Oh yeah, I checked the texture for the vase...it uses the bathtub texture...I will never think of that vase the same way again :yuck: Should be easy enough to make some new textures and since you have enough on your plate, I will take up the task.

[Edit to add]
The mop bucket will have to be a little bit bigger, and yeah, unfortunately, I wouldn't be able to dip the mop inside the bucket, but that is ok. I took an image so you can get an idea on how much bigger it will need to be.
http://img651.imageshack.us/i/screenshot2z.png/

I also made a few textures for the vase, I will probably make more and pick the best ones to provide if anyone is interested in them. They could go into your pack if you like, totally up to you :)

i know why the mop won't fit... yer using the wrong mop!! :P i think you need to get one like http://media.kaiserkraft.co.uk/medias/sys_master/kkmedia/8451649990221952.jpg instead. :D

seriously though:
isn't there a way to make textures appear on both sides of a mesh? i think it might be a nifskope property that might do the trick... NiStencilProperty somehow rings a bell.

Miss Sparkle:

I just finished up most of your list. :foodndrink:

I still have to do the mannequins and the mop bucket, I was miffed when I couldn't have dishes in the sink myself so, I'm going to see if I can learn how to make the mop bucket and the Vault sink act like the big pot. I love hiding things in the big pot.

This tread doesn't have to die, as long as people come to me with ideas or, requests I'll most likely fix them up. Well as long as the requests are reasonable, I've had people on the DCInteriors thread ask for collectable engine blocks and, other dumb ideas. Come on, not to many people could even pick up a stripped down V8 motor, let alone carrie it all the way home.

Your textures look really nice, if you want them to be included in this pack, feel free to PM me with your contact info, I'll also send you back my WIP if your willing to do some testing. Some drop sounds still need a little tweaking but, I'm feeling that this resource is coming along nicely.

You could be right about that, I'm still a noob when it comes to nifscope and, blender. I'm just happy I've figured out to bring things into the havok world. :celebration:

you probably know this already but just in case... :)

i'm not sure what this 'big pot' is, but i think for the sink and the mop bucket (and i suppose you could extend this to any container-like object) you will want to use MOPPS-type collision. using this type has the advantage in that the collision mesh will conform to the exact mesh. you just need to set the collision type to use "Polyheder" (in the "draw" panel, select bounds for drawtype, wire in the draw extra, and select "polyheder" from the drop-down box). done and done. pretty easy, eh?

E:
i haven't read through the entire article, but http://thenexusforums.com/index.php?showtopic=91982 discusses the use of the NiStencilProperty. hope it helps.

E2:
reading the article helps. :D quote from LHammonds:
Actually, the latest versions of Blender NIF Scripts recognizes if the "Double Sided" button is clicked in Blender and now does this for you when you export (assuming the button is clicked. hehehe)

I made 3 more textures today (I am by far no professional or anything, but for the time being, some new textures are better than none at all lol). I will take a game shot of the other 3 in a little while and upload the images here. I will then put a pack together of them for you so that you can re-assign the textures to the proper folder set up that you are placing everything else into :)

I can do testing for you, no problem at all :D I enjoy testing, probably more than playing the game since that is all I seem to do lol!

@ falcon8204 - Ha! Yeah, but I think the dog ate that mop, must have been all they yummy food that got cleaned up with the mop :P

@ falcon8204- Thanks for I figured out how to do the double sided textures in about 30 sec. :celebration: I think I have a grasp on how to do the collisions but, haven't tried yet.

again thanks.

Edit, Falcon thanks again so much. I just fixed the collision on the sink and they work great! Now you can put dishes into them. :foodndrink:

hey no prob.

i should, however, add a caveat about using MOPPS collision: they are not very efficient, so if you've got a lot of items and/or a complex collision mesh with a lot of verts, you will want to use the least amount of verts to get things done. i remember SaidenStorm discussing it a long while ago and he basically said to avoid it as much as possible. in the context of a small/medium size cell it won't make much of a difference, but if you've got a a large cell (or a lot of objects) your FPS might take a hit.

i'll download your resource and see how you set things up. again, great work; i'm sure there are many people who would put the models to good use. :)

cheers

Most of my collisions are very rudimentary, only Boxes, Rectangles and, Cylinders, the sink is the most complicated one.

I had read about that type of collision but, as I said I'm still a noob with blender and nifscope. I do appreciate the help, I'm trying to learn as much as I can so when FNV comes Out I can hit the ground running. :P

Edit: I did start a new thread for "Chucks Havok Friendly nifs Modders Resource", we can ether continue this conversation here or move to that thread.

just trying to get some exposure.

I know this is late, I was rereading the thread. If you need a room peace I'm sure I can help you out. Take a close look at DCInteriors, I've built so many custom room peaces it's almost silly. It's almost always, most of the time a simple matter of retexturing an existing one, :brokencomputer: to fill in the gaps. Not to knock beth but, they dropped the ball on so many levels. :violin:

I don't need any pieces right now, thankfully! I have had the basics made, that I really needed, and found others that were made as well. I don't know why, but I have always loved the vault pieces, so those are the pieces that I work with the most. I guess it is cause the outside navmesh thing scares me so I never work with the homes that require an entrance (I let the pros handle that lol) I am sure when NV comes out, I will be following your mods, since you will end up making pieces that were missing and I can use them :hubbahubba: I already know I will be making a teleport home as usual lol.
