Headphones Plugged Into TV - Always Biased Toward Right Ear?

Hi there,

I like plugging my headphones into my TV so I can avoid disturbing the house. Unfortunately, with Skyrim, there seems to be a bias towards *most* sounds to the right ear.

Ambient weather noise and music are especially noticeable - very soft in the left, strong in the right.

Voices are interesting and behave differently - they are either completely balanced L/R if I'm facing the NPC, or can be right biased if I'm facing away. However, they *NEVER* are left biased. There is never a scenario with any sound that causes L to be louder than R.

I've tried multiple headphone cables and messed with the TV's surround settings (whatever was exposed anyway) with no real results. The reason I think it's Skyrim is because of the differing behavior with voices.

I realize that the PS3 doesn't really allow headphones and pushing it through the TV jack is a "hack", but it'd be really nice if it worked properly. At the very least, completely mono sound would be better than this "mostly right sometimes center" behavior.

Anyone know how I can solve this issue?
