Well much like everything has been talked about, it seems you only have to deal with your friends due to voice chat is enabled for the friends in your party. That or in the options menu you can toggle for universal chat with random people and whatnot.

All purely speculation. But since the game calls out on everything, it won't be so hard for someone who doesn't have a microphone.
