Of course there is the fact that weekends mean very little to advlts who may not work a standard monday to friday week. Doubt they where concerned about when early access starts.

No, most people understand what is meant. Would it have been more acceptable to phrase it "Man it svcks to start on Sunday then have to start the work week the next day. Wonder why they didn't do Saturday instead so we would have the whole weekend at least?" If english is a second language then I apologize as some things could get misinterpreted that way, but otherwise I can't see how what he said got blew out of proportion.

Many people are able to play only on weekends and besides it would surely be a pleasant surprise if they opened it on Saturday.

Fyi folks head start is 4.5 days and NOT 5. Game launches in NA on the 3rd at 7pm not the 4th

Technically it could start on satuday at 7pm and only be 5 days so OP question is valid.

I'm grateful they opened it on a Sunday. It gives my wife and I a solid day to get weekend family things done before we take the following week off for gaming bliss!

i'm kinda surprised the game itself is releasing on a friday. games usually come out on tuesdays like Cd's.

I guess the logic obviously being to give people the weekend. I know early access will be running the week prior, but I hope the servers don't go down during the release weekend...i bookended it with the 4th & 7th off!

I'm probably gonna skip / sparsely play during the early access to avoid burnout / getting bored.

No. Games back in the day, when they were split/rolling releases and sometimes release was weeks later in the EU, it was always Tuesday releases in the US.

Similarly game releases in the UK during that period were ALWAYS on Friday.

Now we have international releases, we all have to expect that our boundaries may shift a little. And for all of us, that means no more expectation that things have always happened on certain days and will continue to be the same.

I work Saturday, so better make it Friday just to be safe

they didn't need to add in early access, they could have easily not have and let everyone in on the 4th. so yeah, you should be happy you have it.
