Wilfully stubborn. He may well be my wife, though why she's reading this thread at work I don't know.

not reading what? The op dosnt clear up if he's talking about getting xp just from healing or for the kill. Nor has he answered my question "have you actually played a private group dounge?" In a public one you have to tag the critter.

No :o You get XP towards leveling only for kill credit and quests.

Using weapons doesn't level them either; it's only having spells slotted while gaining kill XP that levels weapon skills.

*See yellow-ish text.

"This is a problem. If I'm a healer and just focusing on healing my buddy. If I don't do damage to the enemy, i will not get any XP for that fight. This is just awful!"

that is not quite true

you get more with weapon abilities slotted, but you get experience with your equipped weapon regardless of if you have abilities slottet or not

just take the prison, you picked up a sword, i never put a sword and shield skill on my bar, but i certainly got xp with sword and shield, before i found the weapon i wanted

my sorc used both destruction and restoration staffs, he didnt have abilities slottet for either until he got to level 10, and he had lots of xp with both those weapons

We don't get any XP from using skills in ESO. Only from things like mob kills, location discos and quest XP. That is the mechanics of the game. If a healer heals group members during a combat, they should get XP from the kill. Otherwise they will have a hard time going up levels and a harder time keeping up in level with their guild if the guild plays a lot together in PvP.

If healers can't get XP from focusing on keeping their group alive, then there is little motivation for many to make a pure healer. It may get difficult for many to find healers to group with for PvP as well.

I do small grouping in another game that does not give XP for kills if you don't hit the mob. And it is a problem with combats where you really need to focus on cures and heals. I would rather be focusing on keeping my group members alive than trying to tag mobs in group encounters. LOL, if the dps and tanks die, next goes the healer after all. The whole group can wipe if the healer can't focus on healing.

If your team is killing a group of 5 mobs, and your busy with occasional healing so you can only do damage to 3 or 4 of them, you should get rewarded as well as the rest of your group members. I can't think of any logical argument as to why you wouldn't.

Yes but I've stated in all of my replays tho that in a public area he has to also tag the mob. And asked if he has actually played the game because it started his statement with an "if"
Personally I don't think he has played the game.

That simple fact that you have to ask if he has, to verify the truth behind his claims, suggests that you're non the wiser either

Have you played a healer to high level? I at least hope you're nicer to healers you meet in the game, because you're probably going to need them
