[RELZ] Heart of the Dead Quest Mod - Thread #4

It's a house near Dive Rock, connected to the povsscindyhouse interior cell, in the wilderness cell (34,35). Supposedly it floats in the air when HotD is installed, and from what I can see in the details section of the construction set HotD does edit things around that area.

The patch should be a simple matter of grounding the house, the door marker, two NPCs and a note. The IDs of the NPCs and the note start with 'pov' and are just outside the house.

Your mod sounds very good, I'll be sure to play it some time if I ever get Shivering Isles. :)

The main thing Iwas worried about was the third mod I mentioned it edits these http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v189/phoenix7/Cell-Grid-Map-VorsichtSpoiler.jpg and the area in question looks like http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/images/25530-2-1246455972.jpg, so yeah lot's of edits there...
I'm not sure it's a big deal though, it's a German mod and there was an English version, but that got taken down.

I think it is, you are talking about Saphirias Romance by Eddy , one of the best companion MODs you can find.
But it is rather easy to solve:
- The Hearth of the Dead adds a rock in front of saphirias ayleid city door. Object 'JMRockSnow06'
- The Hearth of the Dead adds several rocks around the ayleid city area. shouldn't be much of a hinder.

Hey all,

So it looks like I'll be submitting a small fix in the next couple of days. I really wanted to have the VO version be my next release, but a few bugs popped up that need fixing, mainly:

1) 50000 health given at the end. This is a broken Mystic Stone. I fixed it, which will hopefully fix those who are currently affected by this.

2) I'm currently testing a fix to my companions that will allow them to be disabled. (No more dead bodies following you! Yay!) The down side is that until I can figure it out, this means my companions won't have torches. (Don't ask me why them having torches causes the game to crash when you disable them...)

So a small update. I was hoping not to have to put out an update before the VO version hits, but there are some big bugs that needed fixing. They are:

- Fixed the 50,000 health bug at the end of the game.
- Fixed the dead bodies following the player around after the quest is over.

So check out the usual suspects:

Like usual, just copy the esp over into your data folder. Make sure to ignore the HODUpdatePatch5.0.exe file unless you are updating from a version 4 to version 5. (I doubt anyone is, but I put it in there just in case).

I am enjoying! Wintermoon has been my companion for many months. I love her new voice, kudos for an excellent selection! (I have played HOD through with two characters, for the voiced version I will certain play it through again.)

It sounds as if you hired a team of professional voice actors, and another team to prepare the files, outstanding.
I particularly like that Wintermoon, my favorite companion, has exactly the voice I would expect from here.

Thanks! I have some wonderful, wonderful actors who gabe their free time to make the mod great, and it really shows.

It's why I've been chomping at the bit. The actor who plays Dublin has disappeared, leaving with the companion lines not finished, so I've started to put feelers out to recast him. I'm hoping he gets in contact with me again, but if not I might have to completely redo Dublin, which would be a huge blow. I just want it out... :)

And yes, WhoGuru did an amazing job as Wintermoon.

I'm having a strange problem in the Temple of the Goddess where I get to the place where I'm supposed to put a Shadow Mace in the chest to get a stone one back, but there's no Shadow Mace around anywhere. There's a Shadow Cutter on the altar at the bottom of the steps and a Shadow Dagger on top of the chest, but no Mace. I tried putting on the helmet to see if I need it on to spot the Mace, but no luck. Then I went back to a previous save, went through every battle with the skeletons in the Dragons area, found Shadow Cutter, Shadowswords, Shadow Axe, Dagger, but no Mace just for me to grab and hold onto.

I'm stuck. Did I miss something?

Either I get ported out or a portal opens up that I can take. None of this happens and I can't leave the veil lands.

Am I completely missing something? I've run all the way back to the beginning of the area and checked everywhere I can check and even read the walkthrough(something I NEVER do).

Yeah, the mace keeps disappearing, and I don't know why. You know where the cutter is? There is supposed to be a mace on the other altar at the bottom of the stairs. Check around the altar.

If not, the item code is: XX02EA22, where XX is the load order of HOD on your system. (You can find the load order by hovering your mouse over the HOD mod in the Oblivion Mod Manager).

You have to put the Heart of the Dead inside Yurn's skeletal remains. This should be in the walkthrough.

You misunderstand:

After Mara talks to the player, exactly what is supposed to happen? She and the dragon simply turned back into statues and then nothing. I couldn't leave the dream/veil land. There was no corpse or skeleton or any doors I could use anywhere. I had to deactivate the mod and lost around half my gear.

So I think I fixed it. I typed in xx034899 into the console, and it removed the ability. I think what happened was there was some issue with the heal spell you get from the strange liquid in the hunger altars. I had activated each of the altars, but I only cast the spell twice. I don't know what went wrong, but I think it's working, so I guess I can finish the mod. :D

From the walkthrough:

1) Inside the Chapel of the Three, you will fight Lorkhan and then talk to Mara. She will tell you to put the Heart inside the flesh of the one who made it, and to do that you must go back to the beginning.
2) Head into the Living Quarters and head over to the room will the skeleton from Quest 1. (Remember the strangely lit room with the skeleton and the diary in it?) You'll find the skeleton behind a strange looking portal\door.
3) Put the Heart inside the skeleton and talk to Yurn. When he is done, the Heart is destroyed and the place starts shaking.
4) Optional: If you romanced Dublin or Kat and watched them die, they can be found in here. Talk to them and get them to follow you. If you choose the wrong choice, don't worry. Just try again.

Also, I have another problem - after the

mystic elves close the barrier on the chapel entrance, I enter the chapel, and all that's in there is an essential Yurn ghost. I keep knocking him unconscious, and nothing happens. Mara doesn't talk to me, and Yurn just wakes up and hits me in the face again. I've gone back to where I saved in the beginning of the realm, but that's no use either.

Outside the chapel in the Dead World, there is a door that leads to the living area of the monastary. (You'll remember it from before). Inside there is the skeleton. Put the Heart inside the skeleton.


Jakben: Yurn is supposed to talk to you as soon as you enter the Chapel. Have you tried talking to him? I'll try looking into the scripts today to see what variable he needs. Maybe it's not getting set...
