Hey everybody,

I wanted to take a break from combat so i thought i would try out the hearthfire housebuilding. I ended up choosing Lakeview in Falkreath, I have Lydia and Rayya available as housecarls, i have Camilla as my wife and for my primary questing follower i use

I set my primary follower to wait outside of the building area. While i was building the initial house and the main hall i noticed that Rayya showed up and started patrolling the area. I had not picked anybody to become my steward just yet. I kept building and i got the 3 wings added in. I told my follower that had been waiting to go home, and i went and grabbed Lydia from Breezehome bought her to Lakeview and made her my Steward. Rayya was still patrolling the area, and she would occasionally go inside the house.

So i'm wondering was Rayya showing up a bug or is this working as intended? i thought that it would be cool to have both my housecarls around Lakeview. But i decided to start the house from scratch but the second time around i havent seen Rayya show up yet.

Yes, Rayya is the Housecarl and will patrol the house when you've started on it.

ok cool, she finally showed up again...i was just worried that after the house was done and the main hall was halfway done she still wasnt there...but shes there now. I'm assuming this is the same for the other two holds after you've become thane and you start building houses?

Yep. Valdimar and Gregor will show up at the other houses.

Just dont make the mistake of trying to make Lydia steward of another house. It wont work.

Did you mean making her steward of Lakeview and then buying another house and trying to make her steward of that new house too? I was actually planning on getting a different person to steward any additional plots if i do decide to get them.

Yeah my bad. Thats what I meant. I had her as steward at Lakeview then tried making her steward at Windstad Manor. She never showed up at the new house. So I ditched the idea and tried getting someone else. They followed me to the house but the steward option never showed up.
