Is it really true that the DLC Hearthfire lets you build numerous display cases in your homes and then refuses to let you place anything in them with out some glichy drop to the floor, run outside and back in and hand pick-up and place technique?

I just can't believe this hasn't been addressed via patch or mod or something. Does anyone know of a real solution, mod or otherwise?
