You can only use two, correct?

Say if one is mainly interested in leveling Alchemy, which would be the best two samples?

you can get a pretty good poison from river betty

I was going to say either river betty or histcarp. RB for combining with Deathbell (betties being hard to come by), or histcarp for mixing with the salmon roe.

You can put 1 of each fish in the hatchery.

I have had salmon, slaughterfish, abecean wotsits, cyrodiilic spadetails, riverbetties, histcarp and silverside perches in the hatchery on the same gamesave.

I'd say either Abecean Longfin or Cyrodiilic Spadetail for the Fortify Restoration effects.

But couldn't you double down on the Salmon?

oh, one of each? Okay. I was just under the impression that there were two "slots" available, similar to the greenhouses. Nevermind then, haha.

Try these

Restore stamina uses purple mt flower & hiscarp / gift the fishery 1 histcarp

Damage health uses death bell & riverbetty / gift the fishery 1 riverbetty

Fortify restoration uses abecean longfin & salt plié / gift the fishery 1 abecean longfin

Fortify restoration uses cyrodilic spadetail & salt pile / gift the fishery 1 cyrodilic spadetail

The fishery also produces dragonflies / dartwings, both orange and blue

Fortify pickpocket uses orange dartwing & blue dartwing

The fishery will produce every other time you visit the manor and will give you 3 or 4 of each one. You only have to gift the fishery once. I use sneak mode to catch the dartwings, for they are fast.
