Heavy Armor

So my character has pretty much all his major skills maxed out. By "major skills" I mean the skills that I intended for him to specialize in with perks. The only major skill I haven't leveled to 100 is Heavy Armor. It's leveling really slow, probably because I tend to block and dodge a lot in combat. I would like to find a way to power level Heavy Armor. I've got some idea of what I need to do having played Oblivion as well. Just let something sit there and wale away on me, right? But here's my question: How does Heavy Armor leveling work? Does it level up in the manner that the number of hits you take makes you level, or is it the amount of damage that you take in your hits? I want to know if I would be better off going and finding a weak enemy like a skeever and letting him chew on me, or if I should let something a little heavier hit on me, like a cave bear or something. What say you, forums?

The more powerful the strike, the quicker the level-up. Get a giant/mammoth/frost troll to hit you, spam the health potions, wham! Insta-level.

Thanks! I was sneaking up on a Draugr Deathlord when I read your post and used him for the task. Got up to level 97 before I ran out of potions and food and had to put him down. I'll have to do it again when I get more potions.
