heavy body type is useless

Post » Tue May 17, 2011 10:08 am

I think it does exist for fun or lose. (after playing 15 hours with only heavy body type without a rest, I realized it is just uesless.)
delete the heavy body type or increase the health point of heavy body type or something. I am a very experienced gamer not a stupid [censored]. but I lost every game and couldn't kill many enemies with heavy body type for 15 hours. it proves it is useless.

I think they could use a little more health to counteract their lack of mobility, but I definitely wouldnt call them useless. You can really clear out some objective areas in a hurry with some of their firepower. If you get a couple heavies teamed up, one with the auto-GL and one with a big MG, you can cut through pretty well dug in defenses.

The Minigun can destroy whole enemy teams. And so can the LMG and HMG. Given the weapon-power Heavies have, I think the not-so-great health boost they receive is absolutely justified.

Maybe I'm not using the nade launcher right but it seems useless to me, all I do is draw attention to myself and get destroyed in secs. The LMG's are not enough to justify the meager difference in health between a medium and a heavy build. Ya, the gotlung gun has 200 rounds, and yes it shoots really fast, but unless you are right up on them, only 1 of 10 bullets actually hit the target, the accuracy is that bad. The Maximus is the best choice of the three imo, but again, having to shoot a LMG in little bursts to be effective is counter productive. I'll just switch to my secondary AR or SMG instead.

Your 100% wrong, I use the heavy all the time and I am basically a mobile tank, you must be trying to play like a medium, when you should be playing like a heavy.

Yeah by itself, the auto GL is a turd. But when you are sticking tight with your buddies and run up on the bad guys, that GL can keep them off their feet for a few precious seconds letting your time tear them up while they cant return any kind of accurate fire.

Ya, I figured as much. Will have to give it another go. I can see the potential, just need to get used to the how and when to use it.

Even tough this shares little to no explanation i would have to agree with increasing the Hit points of them. I never play them but realistically i was watching a corner at a choke point and was taking out medium after medium after light after medium and then i realised that some of those mediums were heavies and though i dont think it fair to make them able to walk agaisnt bullets i find with 3 or more guys there they are useless even when behind barriers. So without armour i feel that the only solution is to up their bullet count by about 5 or 2 seconds longer.

Please srhy4rs (what a weird name) could you make a poll:

What should we do to the Heavy body type?
Increase Hit Points
Remove Heavy Type
Leave it as is

If you're good with them, Heavies can dominate.

If you're not, stop trying to be one. Or learn how to do it right.

I can do decently, but not great, so I prefer my Lights, but I can appreciate the value they have in skilled hands.

My Heavy kicks butt, and he uses the GL as secondary. The Heavy, like the other body types have their strengths and weaknesses. They are not useless.

If you can't win with the heavy then don't be a heavy. Everybody seems to think that because they can't do something it must not work, but that speaks more to your playing style than the game.

The health points make a little difference, but the big difference is weaponry, whether it be the heavy weapons (all of which are useful) or using two medium weapons which also works very well. If it's not for you then it's not for you, but he works great, just differently, from the other types.

I actually just switched my engineer over from medium body type to heavy last night for a couple hours and had a blast!

I think it's true.. about needing to be buffed up, but dmg buff on a mg is ridiculous.

I'm still deciding on if I want to go gotlung or chinzor. Also.. are you iron sighting or just firing from the hip?

What does the first sentence of this post even mean?

I've played Heavy and I can't count how many waves of the same team I've mowed through with one of my LMGs. The simple fact is you either have a terrible team, or aren't playing very well.

Besides all that though what's the basis for your argument, YOU couldnt kill people so it's useless? Well I killed waves of enemies when I played heavy so I say you're wrong. 100 % wrong.

Heavy + soldier + chinser = monster. I can take on whole waves of enemies and never run out of ammo. It's so fun to hold down the left and right trigger buttons and let the bullets fly! Let the the bodies hit the floor let the bodies hit the floooooor! I am a walking turret.

Then you need to play vs some quality teams. A good team focuses on your heavy and his health boost is no more useful than if he were a medium. I've had a mixed bag of success tbh. Regardless, I still love being a heavy body type, and like other people have said already, I just need to adapt or find the playstyle that will allow me to use it more effective. But...I still say heavy builds need a little more health.

If you think it's worthless then you haven't played it enough. I use the Heavy body type and have great success. (I play medic). I frequently get Best Medic and Most Kills.

Im sorry but the Heavies are far from useless. They excel in defending missions, just grab a LMG and post up at a choke point and slaughter the enemy team.

My exact experience. I actually used a heavy for the second "Be More Objective" challenge because I could mow down the entire enemy team and take more damage.

i woundent call them usless, their weapons can really shell out damage but your not suposed to just run in to a room hopeing to clear it out, you still need to use your brain for tactical positions.(not calling you stupid or anything, but my friend use's heavy, and he does fine, most of the time at the top of the xp chart)
