My first character will be Heavy. I plan on most of my characters being Heavy and some Medium. Little to none will be Light.

Hate to break it to you, pal, but you must first create a Medium :P

I was talking literally, your first one will and must be a Medium til you unlock the other two bodytypes :P (Becuase I guess you unlock them both at the same time?)

My first character like everyone else's here will be a Medium (Like what Schwarzeis said) , but my character of choice will be a Light Operative or maybe Soldier.

definately light.

Technically you won't be a freerunner, you will be a traceur. (Or doing parkour, not freerunning)

Parkour = efficient movement across urban environments (vaults, wall climbs, slides etc.)
Freerunning = Stylish movements for entertainment purposes (Flips, Hand spins, etc)

And in Brink you cannot do flips.
Just thought id let you know the difference because alot of people don't understand that sadly

Oddly enough it will depend on the weapons available and the playing style for the map. What I mean is that in some case it might be useful to go Light and use an Engineer as you can quickly establish a forward defense or you can go Heavy and become a one man show with your turret, should you ever actually get there. To be fair Medium will probably be the most forgiving for the first couple of weeks though.

In reality it will be just like Shadowrun for the first month or so. Parkour, parkour, everywhere! Expect to see lots and lots of Wired Katana Elves, er... Light Operatives. Eventually the Heavy will take over and then everyone will start playing Mediums to balance the two.

At least it isn't heavy operative. A guy who could unload hundreds of bullets as well as disguise is a recipe for total disaster.

(yeah I know it's not possible)

Actually, disguise really wouldn't benefit a Heavy player, since he would be easy spot (he would always be slow)

And it's not going to change any time soon. Thankfully that will force players to develop a counter build.

Personally I always end up as a Medium and fill in the gaps. I can see it being fun to run an entire team of Lights or Heavies though.

Operatives can do other things besides disguise.

That's besides the point. I was commenting on this

Yes I know Operatives can do other things, I never said they couldn't.

I'm actually pretty sure you were right to begin with xD with what I've seen, freerunning is getting from point A to point B quickly, while parkour is all the flips off benches and stuff.
Which is why it's called freerunning. Because you run places.

That kinda slipped my mind when I was replying.

Considering the other abilities Operatives possess, coupled with the benefits Heavies have over Lights and Mediums, a heavy operative actually sounds like a really good setup.

No its not, Sorry, im an actual traceur. I do parkour all the time. Google it if you have to. Search videos on youtube like 'Parkour literally'

Please don't try and inform someone about a topic you don't know about. Be this a game, a sport, a job, or anything. At least do some research first, or else you just look ignorant. Sorry

Parkour: (the art of movement) is the physical discipline of training to overcome any obstacle within one's path by adapting one's movements to the environment. It is a non-competitive, physical discipline of French origin in which participants run along a route, attempting to negotiate obstacles in the most efficient way possible.

Anyways, back on topic, Wraith, i like it when people all try and do one tactic because either it will fail miserably, or else it will make others develop new tactics to counter it. So i say bring on all the Lights!

This is correct, I'm not really good enough to be called a traceur, but very interested in the whole deal, parkour is point A to B, free running is doing fancy flips and tricks, infact the only solid connection between the two is that people who freerun also tend to do some parkour, they really aren't even related past that..

Also, anyone who hasn't watched parkour literally needs to go do that right now, truly amazing, here's the link
