Heavy Operatives

Or if your helping a light Operative (like Wraith, maybe Shadow) get behind the lines and open a shorcut.......

Haha every time you say Shadow I think you're talking about Shadowcat. Anyway, someone better be protecting my ass.

And yea I'm on 360 Ownage.

An excellent tactical idea.

As stated in my sig, I plan on running a Medium Operative for a few reasons:
1) I don't think I need to climb up and over a full story of stuff; once I learn the area I'll figure out creative ways to use SMART to get me where I need to go.
2) Having low health would irritate me: I'd like to be able to take some punishment in a straight fight
3) I'd like to be able to at least have the option to use heavier (meaning medium) weapons if I want to.

I'm fairly certain that with the right abilities and some amount of creativity I can make a Medium Operative (presumably a role suggested for Lights) a very successful character.

Since i'm a medic, health is not a problem...........

ya i know you are

.................[insert funny comment of some sort]

EEEEEEEEEEeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeenyway, I have faith that SD will make heavy operative work. There's supposed to be a super-high level of balancing in Brink, right?

Said it before and I'll say it again: I am confident that all classes will work well with all bodytpes. A Heavy Operative would be much worse than a Light one at being sneaky, sure, but who says Operatives have to be sneaky? He could just be a counter-op and kill all the Light Operatives that try to sneak up on his teammates. Or he could disguise himself and then open up on the enemy team with his minigun from behind when they least expect it.

Exactly, like I said. SD will have worked out a way for every type to work with every class and weapon.

Whatever the case maybe, I still think Heavy Ops will be a bad idea......

That's because you are thinking about it the wrong way.

Some people will definately go for the challenge of mixing up body types and primary classes. A Light Soldier probably won't be NEARLY as successful as a Heavy Operative, but I'm sure we'll see Light Medics and Heavy Engineers too. You'd think you'd want Medics to be more durable and support the other tough Soldiers, or that Engineers should be able to get their turrets to good vantage points or something, but I'm willing to bet there will be those who just want to see how successful they can get by defying the usual/suggested matches.

Soldiers are far more than just shields. They get best grenades and can hand out ammo.

One of my top priorities I can assure you.

Srry but not going to happen.

Better yet use play dead and set of the mother of all ambushes.

I think Heavy Ops could be useful

hehe Guy with a Shotgun or AK and GL wandering among your ranks
Just when you thought you had him you get a gun butt to the back of the head and a face full of bullets.

And using the Operative tracking ability he has I guess he could shut down threats ahead of time

Let's not forget that sticky mines and other abilities could benefit from the Heavies bigger pool of ability points

I just hope operative has some form of cloak because that would rock :goodjob:

I know thats why no one would think about it if you look heavy and you climb an eye level wall ( if you were light disguised as heavy) then people would be suspicious but if your heavy and look light people would not think any thing about it if you climb over something waist high

If your a heavy and disguised as a light wouldnt you be moving really slow. kind of like if the spy in tf2 disguised as a scout, he is slower than a normal scout because he cant go faster than he goes without a disguise

This is exactly what people have gone through about three times on this forum already.

If you're smart, you will only take a disguise from the same bodytype, because your movement will not alter with it.

oh well I'll have to settle for blending in then and then going for a thump across the noggin
preferably unnoticed...
with a machine gun...
with bullets...
stealthily... yeah

There is no reason to assume that any body type will be less useful with any class. They didn't put all those options in the game only to intend for one or two combinations to actually work.
