http://www.heforshe.org/

So #HeForShe has been gaining a lot of traction recently and many big names are endorsing it. I love the coverage the movement is getting and I'm curious about others opinion on the matter.

never heard of it..

Jack, perhaps when you make this threads you should actually tell a bit of what its about, rather than just posting a link and say "go read it there" (when you do that, it really makes you sound sorta like an Ad Bot)

It seems so silly that something as clear as not hurting women has to actively be spoken and discussed about. When will people just stop being [censored]s?

The answer is, probably never, for it seems there's a basic part of human nature that's stuck with us the whole way, a part which isn't logical, only destructive.

[censored] humanity.

Is this politics? I'm not so sure.

Funny how no one ever talks about women abusing men. [censored] humanity.

Ok mods don't lock this please. Guess he was trying to get my thread shut down. If it's not against forum rules I'd like to keep it open.

Well, we have gotten quite a bit better, but we still have a ways to go. I seriously doubt more hashtags are gonna help much, though.

Well there's that, too. I believe the HeForShe movement sort of takes this into account. At least from Emma Wattson's speech I got that impression.

I believe so too. I think it's an attempt to remove the negative associations currently surrounding feminism (i.e. "feminazism"), and move it to gender neutral "gender equality".
