Heightmap issue

ok, so.. i've been making a valenwood height map, i must of it made about 50 times.
the problem is, when its ingame it turns into a big bunch of spikey floating squares.
here's a exported BMP of the map from an esp (its not the BMP i used to import it to an esp ;)

any idea what the firetruck is going on? heeeelp?

What kind of image did you use for the import? Was it a grey-scale one?

If yes, did you save the heightmap as a 8-bit grey-scale bmp after making changes on your own? Non-grey-scale-images, even if they only contain grey color are interpreted in a completely different way by Tesannwyn.

it was a 16-bit-bmp, maybe it was because i'd not turned it into a gray scale was the reason. (i'd miss read something and thought grayscales could be bad.)

nvm though, everythings just.. fine.
