R. I. P. Heimskr

A recent game occurrence I wanted to share:
My character Valka has been slowly climbing ranks in the Companions. A week or two ago, she got an urgent missive: Heimskr had been kidnapped by a band of vampires! Ready and eager to rescue her Talos worshiping friend she quickly left the mead hall... Only, Heimskr was standing in his usual spot... Still preaching.
Anyway, I went to the location and killed the vampires then did a little console magic to "fix" Heimskr into recognizing he was kidnapped and that I saved him. I did this by setting him as a follower. I dismissed him back at his home and all was right again.
Now today, Valka was finally inducted into the Circle. A glorious day! She didn't take well to her first

Skor dead at the hands of the Silver Hand,

her rage swelled and she changed again. Her fury (and a few snacks) carried her back just outside Whiterun, where she changed back and began heading towards Jorrvaskar to deliver the news. Upon reaching the gates a courier approached with a letter of inheritance.
Heimskr had died and left Valka a sum of gold.

Apparently he tried to defend Valka when the guards attacked her earlier, and lost his life. May the poor fool find piece in the afterlife. I thought about reloading and waiting to accept the gift after Heimskr went home but... I kind of like how he died. I can use his death as an excuse to finally join the Stormcloak rebellion, making it seem as the guards used the chaos I caused as a way to finally rid Whiterun of the "Blight" that is Heimskr.

Tl;dr: Poor guy.
Anyone in your game die by unusual/unintentional means?

Well, I was kind of sad when the old fellow in Solitude ("My daughter keeps me fed and my working days are done") stepped in against the cultists, trying to assist my Dunmer (who was wearing glass armor, rating 500+, and therefore in no real danger). He was near death against the first when Nyx struck the guy down, so what dioes he do? Charges the other, blocking her ability to burn the guy. He dies quickly.

I thought it a fitting end for an aged warrior, so I didn't reload the game. Maybe she'll find him in the Hall of the Dead and leave him some flowers or something. Or maybe a few bottles of mead.

Good riddance. If that blasphemer gave MY Osgumund an inheritence, I would drop 90 gold, as his money is impure. He's probably paying dearly for his false teachings in Coldharbour or Quagmire. This is the ugly truth folks, Talos worshipers just end up dying, and for what? A false god who was just a human and who will always be a human.

On a serious note, I lost Adrianne in Whiterun to a vampire attack, and only discovered this when I found an ash pile at the foot of the door to Warmaiden's.

And as with all ash piles, they never disappear (or never *did*), so I had to see Adrianne's ashes every time I entered the city. It was pretty depressing.

yup, the same thing happened in my game.

All due to an "unintentional" drop of a potent frenzy poison on his pocket....it was an oops moment, I swear.
