Post » Thu Nov 06, 2014 12:06 am

Hi , im new skyrim player this is my first game and experiance on skyrim or this kind of game :)

So my problems start here. Im on main quest now where i need find dragon scroll to travel in time and learn dragonrend i think it called that. So i speak to dragon , speak to greybeard and now i need go to libery meat orc and ask about elder scroll. So here start problems. I have no option to ask somthing like that. I read wiki for guids and so on. Then i found i need read thos 2 books and then i get quest next. I had them in my house chest so i take them and read nothing happen so im stuck now on this quest and dont know what to do :(

Second problem is in alot of city/towns goods sellers and mechant sellers is dead and i cant buy nothing becous they not ther. I need thos goods. I know few times i have seen them killed by vampires or dragon. But think like others games they respawn becous they sell items. So what should i do now ? Start game from 0 and try save them before they get killed?

Any help would be good becous i realy like this game , i have spend 40hours on this game already :) and dont want realy make new character 27lvl now only

For the NPCs that are dieing, it happens with the Dragons and the Vampires from Dawnguard. There are some mods out there that alleviate or stop the NPC deaths from these random attacks. If your on the console, you have to do things a certain way in and around the towns to alleviate it.

As for the Orc, does your quest Journal tell you to go talk to him or do something else first? The danger of Meta Gaming (reading ahead on what a quest is) is you can skip a step needed for the quest.

You already had the two books that the orc gives you? That's weird.

You could just go see http://elderscrolls.wikia.com/wiki/Septimus_Signus at his outpost. That's where the orc was going to send you.

As for merchants dying, I try my darndest to keep everybody alive when attacks happen. If somebody important gets killed, I'll load my previous autosave and try again.

I have done septimus signus cave where he was in, when i needed elderscroll (blood) for vampire quests. And bit later i started main quest becous i wanted dragonrend, quest i start from where i needed to meet greybeards. And get stucked when i needed elderscroll location from orc.

I'm a little confused as to where you're at. Did you do Septimus' quest, Discerning the Transmundane? The quest should get you the Elder Scroll (Dragon), which is used for the Dawnguard quest and also for the main quest to learn Dragonrend. The scroll cannot be dropped or stored, and can only be sold to the Orc in the College. If you had the scroll for Dawnguard, either you have the scroll or the Orc does.

Careful adding mods to this game, once you add more than 5 to 10 of them, you need to have a good plan and some knowledge about how it all works. So, if you start to go nuts over at the Nexus, you can quickly break the game if your not careful. And, with all the good mods out there, it is easy to go nuts.....

However, just adding these two will not cause you any issues.

Did you grab the scroll when you inscribed the lexicon for that quest?

That one is the http://elderscrolls.wikia.com/wiki/Elder_Scroll_(Dragon). It sounds like all you need to do is take it back to Paarthunax.

And definitely try those two mods. NPCs last much longer with them.

If you don't want to run the mod, you can also use console command placeatme (id of npc), and get the id of whichever vendor from the wiki.

As for the quest, if you grabbed the elder scroll then your quest should say "Read the Elder Scroll at the Time Wound," and have a quest arrow when activated at the Throat of the World mountain top. If you have the Elder Scroll in your inventory and the quest is still not updated then you have a glitch on your hands. I would try to read the scroll anyway and see if it advances. If not, save, use the console command setstage (quest id and stage number) from the wiki. You don't have to harvest the elven blood in order to advance the main quest.

In fact, if you do that I would just use the stage after you learned Dragonrend so you don't have to watch a long cut scene that often gets stuck anyway.
