Help! Attributes permenently altered somehow..

Post » Wed Oct 27, 2010 9:01 pm

I am playing a pretty heavily modded Oblivion but have been trying to steer away from buffs that make the game unbalanced.. I suspect it may have had something to do with the mana well at Frostcrag Reborn, which adds stats that are supposed to taper off in time..

Both my Agility & Speed are buffed with (+100).. there is no notification of what is giving me the perk and I would like to remove them as my character is running around like a crackhead now, but I dont know how..

Anyone know how to remove perks from a char? I've been searching command console lists for the answer to this but havent had any luck..

Thank You!

I'm pretty sure it's a case of mods abuse, my friend. Time for the obligatory troubleshooting. :violin:

You can use this mod to fix your character's stats:

Thank you for the quick reply..

I tried the state restore mod and followed all the instructions (removed all items, prayed at chapel to restore stats, slept for 7 days to have any time dependent perks wear off)

And still I couldn't get rid of the stat perks that are haunting me..

In my active effects menu under Agility and Speed it says "Ability: (+100)"

There has got to be a way to remove this, maybe a savegame editor or something? Any ideas?

did you try just removing them in the console?

dispell (if you can figure out the spellID code that is used by the mod)
modpca
setgs (if the mod is altering a game setting)

etc.

I don't know how to get the spellID code or which mod specifically changed it.. I have a clue it may have been a potion from frostcrag reborn..

When i see the menu with all active skill boots/drains it lists under agility "Ability: (+100)" (same for speed) with no name for the actual ability causing the boost..

yeah it would just be -100 from the shown level, so for speed it *should* be 90.

i did "modpca speed 90" and it ended up @ 24 for my speed? is this because modpca just increases the level and loops back around at 255? The buff was still showing as well.. I wish I just knew how to remove these [censored] attribute boosts! Sheesh..

Thank you for helping though I feel like I'm getting somewhere with this.. the other resort is to lose about 3 hours of time in the game and revert to an older save game.. I would rather not do that as I did alot in those 3 hours.

LOL, when you typed "modpca speed 90" I think it increased your speed by 90, but that put you over the 255 limit, so then it started over again

If you are trying to get to Speed 90 and your current Speed is 24, type

modpca speed 66

That should increase it to 90.

If you need to reduce an attribute, you can use a negative value instead

So this has proven to be a good temporary fix as the stats are where they were before, also regular buffs are working properly..

The "Ability (100)" is still listed with agility and speed though, I would like a way to get rid of that completely to solve this once and for all.. but for now all seems okay.. Thank You for your help!

If anyone has any other ideas on how to remove the base ability buffs that are still showing up I'd love to try and fix this completely though!
