Help me choose

Post » Sun Oct 16, 2011 6:38 am

Okay I'm going to be a wood elf sneak type. Bow for range and dagger for close but what should I use for other hand? Shield would look funny IMO so im thinking a magic type. What magic would best suit a stealthy backstabber? Thanks

Agreed, maybe conjuration in case you get caught?

Thanks. I don't know what spells fall into what category. Is there a list somewhere? Also illusion does sound nice bit would like some offensive capabilities as well. Maybe traps:)

I use a shield and dagger. It helps because the weapon is short. Conjuration magic is a good choice because it can be used for distraction while you slip away. If you want it to be something destruction, maybe a damage health to make the dagger strikes mean more.

These were the Illusion skills in Oblivion...perhaps Skyrim will be similar?

Calm
Demoralize
Night-Eye
Chameleon
Frenzy
Paralyze
Charm
Invisibility
Rally
Command Creature
Light
Silence
Command Humanoid

Paralyze

I looove Paralyze. I try to not kill and that one gives me time to get away. I wonder if it's powerful enough to use on a dragon and what a paralyzed dragon looks like?

Just play the game and see what works out for you. That's a great thing about Skyrim; you don't pick your skills at the start, but you develop your 'class' while actually playing. No need to worry, it'll work out fine. Do what feels best.

Destruction magic would let you lay runes to use as traps or help set ambushes.

I can see how illusion could be dull. But to me sounds very tactical
