Ok, so i escort the woman to he home, but the kleeper wont initiate conversation with her, or open the gatye.. This kiondve screws me outve the entire dlc if i cannot proceed, no? Im on ps3..

Was trying to avoid spoilers, but apparently, its a well known bug... I indeed did discover castle Vohlikar prior to doing the Bloodline quest.. After walking Serina all the way to the castle, the gatekeeper tells me im not wqelcome, at which point hes supposed to recognize her.. This doesnt happen, stopping the quest in its trackks.. Effectivley ruining all the dawnguard dlc.. Ive tried many things now, but am a little pissed Bethesda just left these crap bugs for everyone to purchase, and not get to play!

I'm not really sure how to solve that one, I'm afraid. Have you checked the 'bugs' section of the quest article on UESP.net? If there's a known solution, it will likely be there.

This would probably get better answers from the hardware/software issues forum. I'll ask a moderator to move it.

yea, apparently ps3 has to try to use a friggin "plate" to glitch tjhrough the gate.... Great 'fix' eh? lol

That's a bit weird glad you found a solution though.

Try reloading a previous save.

u might have to be infected with the vampire virus yourself. just fight against some vampires and you will infect yourself very easy from these chimeras.

or there is another part of the castle you can discover- go to the left side before the castles "bridge", pass the narrow way next to the water and you will find another part of volkihar.

After 2.5hrs of reloading, running back to the castle, and going back up to 4hrs of saves, my final try that worked was the plate glitch... Luckily, with my most rec ent save, at the castle gate...lmao.. For about 30 solid minutes (after giving up reloading old saveed) i ran face first with a plate, into the wall, on the left side of the gate, and finally got in... Somehow, the girl was already inside the gate thistime, and happy day, ive completed the quest..

I also happen to have all 13perks of my werewolf tree completed, so i didnt wanna go Vamp onmy Paladin... Being undead would kinda go against everything a paladinstands for, ya kno? Tho im not entirely sure how much better being a dog is? But seems better in my mind, lol..

Anyway, The plate exploit worked.. Anyone else having the issue, just hold a plate in 1st person view, and face lvl, and repeatedly run into the wall until it glitches you throughj... The gate didnt work, so i stood on the waiste high ledge to the left of the gate, beside the gargoyle, and did it there...Theres plenty of info on this particular exploit, so you can see how its done yourself on youtube... Out of curiosity, did you try the boat ride (Icewater Jetty to Volkihar Castle)? Also, did you allow Serana to speak before going to the gate? Sometimes when is a sequence is skipped, the progress gets screwed up (i.e. the infamous Blood on the Ice).

Glad the wooden plate glitch worked for you though.
