Hi there!

Are there any kind souls around who could help me with this? My game hangs when I try to start a new game, but runs my old saves fine. But I have been doing a number of things to it because I recently switched computers. I'll go through it step by step...

- on my old Mac, I installed Windows 8, Steam, Skyrim +DLC's, and all the modding tools.

- I installed about 70 mods with the NMM including Live Another Life, checked them one by one, ran BOSS and cleaned them. The game worked fine though I never tried to start a new game on my old Mac.

- Then we bought a new Mac (super powerful and all - really happy), and I installed Windows 8 on that too, plus Steam, Skyrim and all the modding tools. Then I installed a software called Parallels which allows Windows to run in a window (haha) in the Mac OS. I then took the mod-files from a flash drive and carefully placed all the files into C:Program Files (x86)/Steam/Steamapps/Common/Skyrim/Data. I made sure to check every file and folder to see if it was already present in my new install, to make sure I didn't create doubles.

- When I opened the NMM, I saw that all the mods were present, but only in the Plugins column, not in the Mods tab like before. They were also unchecked so I used the 'Enable all unactive plugins' button.

- Then I ran BOSS again and cleaned them with TES5Edit. Checked the game, that ran fine, and then unchecked 'Alternative Start' because I wanted to start a new game with the real intro.

So that's when the game hang after I clicked "New game". My old saves still run fine but I can't start a new one.

I hope someone can help me. It's such a specific situation that I thought Google would be no help this time and I'd better come here.

You may not have followed the uninstall directions from the readme. You can either follow those, or you can enable the mod and choose this "alternate" start:

Does it mean anything that my mods show up in the Plugins tab but not in the Mods tab...?

Under Windows, Skyrim lists your mods in C:\Users\[Name]\AppData\Local\Skyrim\plugins.txt. I don't know how relevant that is for your setup.

Also, Under Windows it is generally recommended not to install Steam in the C:Program Files (x86) folder but rather in a folder of its own, such as C:\Steam\... or whatever, and I have absolutely no idea of how relevant that might be in your case, either.
