Help me enjoy Morrowind!

So a couple of months ago I got Morrowind. I played it for a week, but I didn't get far. I heard so many amazing things, but I was finding it hard to get into it, it was so big and I didn't know what to do. I guess I was so used to Oblivion, I knew what to do in it and it's simpler. I'm going to try again tomorrow, so can anyone give me any tips? Like what should I do? Where should I go? What's a good character setup (I usually like a stealth/shortsword approach, and the Dunmer race)? Just help me love Morrowind like all of you.

Here's a good web page to get you started: http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Morrowind:Morrowind_for_Oblivion_Players

Both games point you toward the main quest to get you started and leave you alone to figure out what else you want to do. And, just as in Oblivion, it's up to you to decide what you want to do. My first character was a warrior and I found that to be a fairly easy character to learn the game with.
