Help! Fallout 4 on Ultra - looks nothing like screenshots

Post » Fri Nov 27, 2015 8:51 am

So I have everything on Ultra. It runs very smoothly (unless I use a scoped weapon) and it does not look like a lot of the screenshots I've seen...anyone have any idea why?

Do I need a SweetFX shader or some INI tweaks to get it looking like some of http://staticdelivery.nexusmods.com/images/1151/79946-1447145719.jpg?

My settings:

What I WANT it to look like:

My PC specs:

i7-5820K @3.3g

16g RAM

AMD Radeon R9 380 4g

I'm not sure if that's a bullshot as they call them, or whether something else is at play. The image is 1,920px × 1,200px

Perhaps they played on a 4K resolution monitor and shrank the image down. Perhaps they took the screenshot and got a little artistic with it, it happens a lot in the games industry.

It's not really possible for me to tell and I don't want to make any accusations. I wouldn't say my character looks that good facing me on ultra settings either.

On Nvidia hardware you can run the game at 4k resolution and scale it down to 1920x1080p. That makes the game look better without owning a 4K monitor. Not tried that yet myself.

Maybe you can do that on your AMD card too? I haven't owned/played with one since 2003 but I know they're just as good.

This is all I can suggest. Hope this helps somehow. I've replied because I'm very interested myself.

Thanks! I'll give that a shot, that screenie was a user screenshot from the Fallout 4 Nexus so not a bullshot, no.
