Help us find corpses in grass, please.

Post » Tue Jul 12, 2011 9:40 pm

It would be really, really nice if there was a way for us to locate corpses in long grass. It got tedious going into the menu and turning grass off just so I could find the guy I killed, and where he dropped his weapon.

I'm thinking some sort of particle effect (if not a shimmering effect, then perhaps flies buzzing around above carcasses?) or a large blood decal that appears on the grass around the body, so that you can just look for the blood-soaked grass patches. Heck, even a corpse indicator on the compass for corpses that are only a few minutes old.

Or RDR style minimap markers?

Not very helpful without a minimap, though.

Detect Death spell?

Maybe, in addition to drawing an objective line, Clairvoyance can also highlight corpses?

No thanks, keep it as it is. Do we need markers for everything/or hand holding for everythng....really?
Keep it the same,if it goes flying of a cliff etc....then tough.

Yeah keep the same probably pretty likely the weapons are typed to the inventory anyway so you don't lose them, lol killing ppl on hill sides had it dangers as you chase after your loot as it rockets down the hill side! Note to self: Never drop a gem on a grassy hill lol

Please, no more markers.

Perhaps add birds circling over carrion. That would help us locate bodies and add to the realism as opposed to detracting from it.

It may be too much to ask, but if bodies actually made grass band from their weight, it would be totally awesome.

I'd really like something like TW2's "press Z to highlight all lootables, so you can see them no matter how they've been obscured" perhaps even a return of the detect magic spell from morrowind, so we can quickly find any important / noteworthy loot.

This reminds me of a particular Mages Guild quest (Ulterior Motives) in Oblivion. The one where your required to travel to Skingrad to 'apparently' fetch a book from Count Janus Hassildor. Mercator Hosidus and his friends Arterion and Mondrar Henim ambush you outside the cursed mine at about 2AM. I bring it up because everytime I disposed of those necromancers, I always had trouble locating they're corpses afterwards. I don't know what Bethesda could really do about the minor issue though.

Detect Death spell?

mm It'd be a spell to help you find all the dead bodies to loot ....

and to help you find some corpses to Reanimate, for when they let you be a necromancer.

- - But really, I always wondered if I was the only person that lost bodies on those grassy hillsides..
