I have bean useing the GECK for F3 and NV quite nice'ly... Untill...
For no resion I can figger out just today (15/11/10 NZ date) I get a new bug.

When I bring up the idles dialouge, and hit the edit botton for the art file it (GECK) just drops out on me.
No message nothing but CTD?

Any-one else had this or better yet know how to fix it.

Its happening for both F3 and NV now.

Computer:
CPU: celron (Shame)
GPU: Nivdia
Windows: Vista.

Edit:
I tryed uninstalling the geck then reinstalling, no go.

But system restore worked.
The only changes where windows updates so one of them stops the geck from working

This is an issue in compatability with some sound cards I think is what we figured out first when I got this issue way back like a year ago. The simplest solution (if you have the supplies) is to simply have a microphone plugged into your computer when editing dialog. For some reason when your sound system recognizes the microphone in the port, it doesnt crash the geck. If you dont have a microphone, I'm not sure what you can do. Do you happen to have a Realtek family soundcard?

Not the same bug at all.
I know becouse I have the one you are on about and have a blank mic jack in the PC to fix it all ready.

Oh geez, I'm sorry. Not sure how I managed to completely missunderstand that. :sadvaultboy:

I only install security and critical updates, and skip the optional ones like dotnet and drivers - especially skip drivers through Windows update.
