If you have permission you must have the files. Check them with iranview or something like that. Most texture releases just use the same textures and make an edit at best.

I don't that's the problem, I used readme file to the point where I don't need it any more, and erased other readmes, I don't have much memory so I'd be crazy to keep all the readmes I have. However, I stopped the work on the mod, and thought I'll never come back to it and erased it's readme, so I lost the last information on who is the author of the stuff.


In the meantime, searching all mods I could find I found out where are the window and roof tile textures from! That leaves wood, wall and floor textures..
Found the wall as well.

What I do is include the full read me's even if I don't use any textures. If I use other textures or they where just influences. I feel they deserve a listing.

They do, but I thought I left the mod for good. If I wouldn't think they don't deserve it, I wouldn't go trough all the tracking as they were all free resources, so I could just use them without any thanks, but I don't, so I wanna track who's the author so I can give them proper credits!

So do the textures have any names/prefixes that might give a clue as to which mod they are from? I thought I had a ton of graphics replacers but can't recognise those ones - at least not without the meshes attached - though the red wood looks oddly familiar

The red wood is a recolor of wood from the original visual texture pack. I'm not sure where they go it from. As it's very well seamed and people where not that good in making seams back then.

Unfortunately no, for every mod I work on with other's textures, I completely rename the stuff to CS_something, so all textures have my own names.

Yeah, the red wood makes me crazy, I'm sure I saw it somewhere, but just can't figure out where.....
As for the floor on the other hand, I'm absolutely clueless. Other then it's use in my mod, I don't remember I've seen it anywhere else.

Most of the rest of the textures were made from a guy for another game. He only asked that he be given credit if anyone used them. He made a lot but I never used them and I've forgotten his name. Of course giving credit is not very high on peoples list in texture releases.

From another game..but I don't use any textures that were not released for Morrowind or made by myself..

The red wood looks similar to that found in the mod "The Golden Dragon" however, I don't have the readme for that mod anymore, and it may not be identical......I'd actually have to play the game instead of trolling these forums to know for sure. hehe.

That's the point. You got them from a Morrowind pack that never credited the maker.

Oh...that svcks badly..so what? I just have to get along with fact that I'll credit "whoever made the textures"?
