ok, so, i got "DFInstall" and "DOSbox" annnd idk what to do. yes i read the instructions on the sticky, but i got confused, so can somebody please help me a little bit? i extracted the DFInstall and put it in the "Games" folder in the DOSbox folder. now what? (also i created a desktop shortcut that says ""C:\Program Files\DOSBox-0.73\dosbox.exe" -conf daggerfall.conf -noconsole" on the "Target" line, but that doesnt do anything accept open DOSbox)

however when you are done with mounting \dagger doesn't seem to work try fall z.cfg instead

I followed those instruction and everything worked except for when i wen to load the game. i typed in dagger and pressed enter as it told me to, and the prompt told me that i didnt have the cd in the cdrom... maybe i didnt properly setup the emulator? idk... anyway, even without those instructions i was able to install and patch the game.

Be sure you write "mount d c:\dosgames\dfcd -t cdrom -label Daggerfall" correctly, especially the "-label Daggerfall" should be Daggerfall, not daggerfall or dAGGERFALL or anything like that, just Daggerfall.

You may have the same problem I did and have a corrupt download, apparently its not too uncommon of a problem.

Try deleting the Daggerfall folders and getting it off fileplanet. Then use the UESP guide,

I already fixed my problem. I just thought the OP or tobyjuan might have had the same problem. Tobyjuan got the same exact error as I did before I re-dled everything.

Ok. My previous post is definitely worth trying if you can't figure out what is wrong though.
