Help! No mouse cursor upon startup after mod installs (FWE,

After installing a boatload of individual mods recommended by Mez and Arwen, making sure they would be compatible with FWE, MMM etc., I tested Fallout 3 to see if it would load properly. It did and I was able to start the main game.

As a last step, I installed and activated FWE, MMM and the necessary FOIP files using FOMM and now when I start the game, no mouse cursor appears and the main menu never appears! Effectively, my game stays on the picture of the soldier and I can't do anything! I know that it is linked to FWE (I have 6.0 w/ 6.03 hotfix activated), MMM or the FOIP files......please help! I'm tempted to start from scratch again (hours wasted.....) and leave out the major mods like FWE, MMM etc. even though I'd like to use them.....

PLease post you load order as SPOILER.

Then..., just guessing, ....did you install Darn's UI? If so, did you change the fonts in the Fallout.ini ?. Because FO3 will not continue to load until it finds those fonts.

If the mosue cursor doesn't show up it's usually a loading problem, usually meaning you have a missing master.

I actually had this same problem a few monthe ago. I already had FWE and MMM and scores of other mods. As a final touch I decided to try out a texture replacer and thats when the problem started. Although for me the issue went away every third startup, that is I would have to alt-tab out of Fallout and kill it twice, then have a flawless game the following load. It was wierd and extreamly predictable. I did a full reinstall using Kai Hiroios YouTube guide. I know thats not what you want to hear so maybe someone else hase something useful to add.

Is there an easy way to copy the load list without a) typing it out by hand or B) taking a screenshot and posting it?

I managed to solve this launch problem or at least narrow down the suspects.....I had loaded Darnified UI wrong. When that was fixed, I was able to load all mods in except for EVE and still get the game to go to the main menu. EVE still messes things up and won't allow me to get to the main menu....

However, with EVE deactivated and all other mods activated (FWE, MMM, Project Beauty, Fellout, WMK, Enhanced Weather, and a number of other mods that are not on the FWE incompatability list) and set in the recommended load order, I run into this game-breaking issue almost right away:

As soon as I choose "alternate start" in FWE, get loaded into the alternate start shack, and then move a few steps and start to look around, the game locks up....music/sound still playing but gameplay completely freezes. Have any of you run into this before?? I'm dreading having to go back and uninstall for a *3rd* time and rebuild/reactivate the mods again one at a time and keep trying to get past this opening sequence. I've probably put a good 5 hours into trying to get all these mods working together already.....any ideas on how to fix this FWE alternate start lock-up issue will be GREATLY appreciated!!!!

I had the exact same problem (per the OP) - by process of elimination, I figured out that it was "Book of Earache". As soon as I removed that (and patches to go with it, etc.), no problems at all. That's with tons of mods, including FWE, MMM, EVE, etc.

Going back to eXcalibr ammo and munitions shop (as before) was fine, too. Just not the latest version (i.e., BoE). Not sure why, exactly, but yeah. That's what it was for me. Mightn't be relevant to your mods arrangement, but still, might be to someone else's.
