no. i've already placed the 4 books on the pedistel and that puts book Chapter 5 in the center and brings you up to the next level

Are you sure you're in the right book?
I was also locked in the room after getting the shout, and it turned out I was reading the wrong Black Book.

I haven't completed the " The final descent" , do I need to finish that and then open "waking dreams"

Oh, I think I know the issue. It is possible to read Waking Dreams (which has 6 chapters) and clear the Apocrypha area up to finding Dragon Aspect. But the quest sequence has not progressed for you to have the boss fight there yet. That is normal. The normal solution to leave: Simply read Waking Dreams again to go back to the normal world. Then continue reading other books (such as Epistolary Acumen- 4 chapters- for the Gardener of Men) and doing other things until you are ready to return to Waking Dreams later.
