I posted this same issue over on the Fallout 3 PS3 board because it seems like someothing I did for Fallout 3 GOTY somehow Affected Oblivion.

I was having the same issues of freezing when playing Fallout 3 as many others here have posted. I stopped playing it for a few and began back to playing Oblivion. Well, the other day I felt like playing Fallout again (I like it better), so I looked around these boards and PS3 gaming boards and foiund that the fix to the freezing was to delete the Game Data for Fallout, just not the Saved Data (otherwise you'd lose your settings, etc.). So I followed these steps for the Fallout data and then attempted to restart the game, put the disk in and nothing but a blank screen once the Bethesda logo loads. So I gave up and figured I'll just go back to Oblivion until I feel like dealing with it again. Problem is, now I get the saem result for Oblivion. Just the Bethesda logo and then a blank screen.

I didn't touch the Oblivion data one bit, just the Fallout data. So what gives?

Any idea on how to get either game working again?

I even created a new user and nothing.
