Help me pick best wife and follower?

Is there a follower who only heals, and nothing else that would invite her death or try to stand in front of me?

No. All followers have a Rambo mentality.

Yes. Any race can marry any race and you can marry hetero or homosixually. Though I don't know if there are any Khajiits to marry...or was it the Argonians? I can't remember, but I believe two races don't have any available partners.

My current character has taken Aela as his wife and Farkos/Vilkas as his companions. Why? All three of them offer training. And you can get your money back from all three

It is a quest you find along the way. I only found it my second time playing - and then only by mistake. It helps to talk to those that may know a thing or two about marriage.

Dude cant believe no one mentioned Borghak the Steel Heart. Shes a hot orc look her up. She uses sword and shield with heavy armor. Did I mention she is a sixy orc?

I tried to look her up. Couldn't find a single picture, and only found a video where she's in full Ebony armor. No help there.

I married Aela the Huntress, but got bored with her when I found out she would never transform into a werewolf during combat, and by the fact that she always calls me "love" and "dear" and things like that. What happened to the cold yet caring woman I married? So now she's relaxing in my house in Solitude. My current companion is, sadly, one you cannot marry. She is http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Skyrim:Eola, the cannibalistic leader of the Namira Coven. In addition to being a total hottie, and her cannibalism being an odd sort of turn-on, her magic is awesome, and she'll often reanimate corpses, hurl crazy fireballs, and, if you give her the right staffs, she'll totally torch the place when there's danger around.

I gave Eola the Ring of Namira, and as far as I'm concerned, we're married. It may not be recognized by the Temple of Mara, but screw that. It's recognized by Namira.

I picked Aela, we go hunting together, I'm kind of a archer/warrior type myself. "Couples who slay together stay together"

That reminded me of this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WTyl3EtvYQ0. :P
I might marry Aela. For the reasons above.

Have you tried reverse-pickpocketing? With the right sneaking perks - to the point where you can literally take the clothes off someone's back - you might be able to change her appearance that way. Otherwise, I guess you can only modify followers.

my sneak skill is really low and i dont know how to reverse pickpockt. does znyone know if this works? i'll try building up my sneak but it might take a while, its under 40 and i dont have any sneak perks.

I am level 30 and have never seen a prompt for marriage in a dialogue box. Is there something I am missing?

I wanted to marry either Sapphire of the Thieve's Guild or Lydia. Sapphire isn't an option though and the marriage dialogue for Lydia is glitched. So, I had to "settle" for Aela. Sigh...guess it could be worse, ha ha.

You can't just marry someone, you have to have an amulet of some sort...I'm not sure what it's called, but I'll look into once I've decided on a mate.

@Velorien...that chick is kinda scary looking. The one blind eye...yikes.

Yep! You have to go the Temple of Mara in Riften, talk to the Priest and get the Amulet of Mara, then put it on and talk to the right person, and, if they liked you, you'll get the option to ask for their hand in marriage.

I know.

I married Aela then I let a dragon eat her when she became a Blade follower. Looks for someone that has that great foreign accent and really cute.

i got my pickpocket up to 100 and took her miners clothes and pickaxe off her. however, she walks around in her underwear all the time and doesn't put on the clothes that i give her/put in drawers/leave lying around. she sometimes asks me 'i dont know if you dropped that armor by accident, but can i have it?' and i choose 'consider it yours' and she says back 'oh good, i'll go and try it on straight away', but she never does :(
