Help! Reavers!

Post » Tue Aug 05, 2014 11:52 am

Okay, so I just downloaded Broken Steel after waiting for a long time. I love to explore the Metros, but now there's Feral Ghoul Reavers and I'm getting simply murdered down in the tunnels! I'm level 26, maxed out Energy Weapons and Small Guns, but I can't seem to kill these things without it taking ten minutes of running in circles.

What tips do you guys have on how to dispose of Reavers?

What guns do you use? Like the weapon, you actually use.

I reccomend the lincolns repeater rifle

Ammo. Lots and lots of ammo. They're bullet sponges.

You can also focus on crippling their legs first (using a dart gun, mines, or something else) and that usually makes them easier to kill, since you don't have to worry about getting away from them as much. When their hobbling along its easier to put bullet after bullet into their heads.

Crippling the legs is a big thing. I think the key is high explosive skill combined with the demo expert perks alongside nuka grenades and bottle cap mines, although thats just in theory, since I haven't tried it out yet. I had to retire a 75 hour character because he had specced into Energy Weapons and Small Guns for his weaponry needs, and had no way to deal with Albino's and Reavers in a decent way. For the Overlords its pretty easy to shoot their guns out of their hands and snatch it up before they can find it again.
