Help re-start the flame in my heart?

So I've been feeling to replay Fallout 3. Unfortunately I'm on console, but I do have the game of the year edition. I've played through this game countless times and still love it, but I can't bring myself to play it this time because I always go; Small guns, Sneak, Lockpick.

So what I'm trying to ask is could anyone provide any fresh game play styles? Role play ideas? hardcoe rules? I'm open to any and all suggestions I just want to get back into it. If you've had exceptional fun with a certain play style please comment it so I can get an idea.

Thank you in advance c:

Could always try a melee/unarmed build. Works well with sneak and is a lot of fun from a roleplay perspective if you want to play as a sledgehammer wiedling mad man or pacifist street fighter/monk.

I was thinking I may have to try melee, never got into it so now may be a good time, thanks :D

I suggest to play Fallout New Vegas! :wink:

I've got FNV, done pretty much everything besides Lonesome Road and I don't want to do that just yet, I love FNV but the capital wasteland is beckoning me back again!

Limit your weapons, I usually make it so there's no scroll bar on the side in the Pip-boy.

A maximum amount of aid items, say 15 Stims, a couple bottles of waters. Also, make yourself sleep if you can when there's beds avalable, drink water everyone in a while, eat food when not in battle, as opposed to fixing yourself with Stims.

If a follower dies, let them die instead of loading a save. (Pretty pointless, as high level followers become absolute gods) or actually be The "Lone" Wanderer

Don't be karma conscious, do what you yourself would do in that situation. Don't go running around do good things just to get Fawkes, then drop your karma to Scourge of Humanity as soon as you get him.

Try not to be Uncle Pennybags, limit the amount of caps you can have on hand to say, 1000.

~~~
I try to follow these rules, but by the time they actually apply, it's too late... I have about 20,000 caps in my pocket, and almost double that in my house.
Most of those things I try to apply anyway (besides good karma to get fawkes, I hate that mutant freak XD) I always wished fallout had an option that limited weapon carrying, like a backpack or something so you had to allocate and plan your gear or give up certain items for loot. But I think I'll try to go for a hardcoe DiD, 3 weapon limit play through.
I stay away from V.A.T.S. as well as much as possible, you might be able to now tell I've played this game a lot ._.
Yup, I'd say. Vats is for people new, basically. I use it for things here and there, but nothing that would make or break my play style.
