So basically, I am getting to the point in the story where you get into the decontamination pod and the screen goes white and all that, and then when the announcer thing says that the cryogenic state has been suspended, my view clears up aaaand... my wife is walking around outside of her pod with our baby, and the story can't continue from there. I know that 2 other people are supposed to show up and all that happens after that, but for some reason I can't get there because for some reason my wife is not in her pod when the cryogenic state gets suspended. I'm still able to look around and pound on the glass, but nothing changes, she just keeps walking around. I'd really like some help, and I've already tried restarting the game/my PC and none of that worked.

You may have to start a new character, or restart from a save before you enter the Vault.

Wow, that's a pretty strange bug. Is this your first playthrough? And on what platform, PC, Xbox or PS4?

In your game your wife abandons you and runs off with the baby. Interesting.

But yeah, best bet is to restart...did you enter the chamber really early or something (run way ahead of your spouse maybe)?

That'll teach you for leaving the toilet seat up...

Seriously though, I'd recommend starting a new character.

Basically i'm playing on PC and unfortunately starting new game doesn't help. Also, reinstalling the game doesn't solve the problem as well. No clue what to do to be honest - so much hype for this great game is ruined

Wow, that is strange. It's happening on EVERY play through? Let me ask you this. Before you go into the cryo chamber. Shaun will start crying. Do you go over and comfort him? If not maybe the game is hanging up there...

And if that is it. Your a HORRIBLE FATHER for leaving a crying baby so that you can go take a nap.

Can you try tweaking settings (try anything, try lowering settings), and make sure vsync is on?

Oh and funny enough i can keep hitting the window glass form the inside of the pod but my "loyal" wife doesn't pay any attention at all

Using Vsync doesn't hell as well

• sqt – Show Quest Target: Generates a list of current quest targets. Can also be used to find Quest IDs.
• completequest – Completes the given quest.
• showquestobjectives or sqo – Shows all current quest objectives, even completed ones for the given quest or all quests if without ID.

I tried using this but the thing is i'm not can't get out of the pod. If i type this before getting into the pod, the quest is done but my wife is still there insted of being dead as she supposed to be (lol). Also, no chance of getting a pip-boy which ruins the whole game.

What if you type it before going to the shelter? Or just progress quest instead of completing it? The wife surely can't leave the vault...could be kind of funny if you can make this work. You can post videos of your wife and baby wandering Vault 101 like ghosts.

You never did answer my question. Right before you go into the cryo stasis tube. Shaun starts crying. Have you gone over and comforted him? If you have then I would suggest putting a second post describing what's going on in the tech part of the forums.

But what stage is it? On the wiki, all the stages are describes as unkown because the actuall quest is not on pip-boy because i don't have it. Therefore i have no idea what's the ID of the stage needed

To be honest this is so dissapointing - I've spent 40 pounds on this game and plenty of money on upgrating the hardware. And this bloody bug appears at the first stages of the game...

I edited post to give you the info you need to hopefully fix it through the console.

Problem solved - i downloaded a save from Nexus (link below) and loaded it just before leaving the Vault. It allows to change SPECIAL and character's face (Not the gender!) and allows to play on. Thanks everyone for your help

If you can't get it to work with the tips above, you could try someone else's save files. Nexus has a bunch and at least some of them start just before leaving the vault so you can still edit the character to your liking. Of course you'll miss a part of the game but it's a band-aid fix until you can fix yours.

I had something similar in Skyrim. Right at the beginning just as your about to get yer head chopped off and the evil Dragon turns up. Well he's supposed to land on the roof and interrupt the execution, he didn't. Just kept flying round and round with my character stuck there with his neck on the block.

That was my very first playthrough, so I get ya being a bit pissed off.
