Help: Trying to configure DarkUId Darn

Post » Wed Aug 03, 2011 6:46 pm

Hello all,

I finally upgraded from the old Dark UI v2.40, but I can't help but miss Immersive Interface, which could easily be tweaked to mesh with Dark UI. I'm doing some reading on darnified.net, but I don't see anything that mentions the button background on the main menu page. Does someone know where that setting is in the menu files? I also want to increase the inventory menu font size. I'm just using the default large font set right now.

Any help would be much appreciated!

Edit: Are the main menu buttons supposed to be transparent by default?

Edit: All right, this is a beautifully-designed mod...very well designed... I still need to figure out where the button textures can be put back. I saw an button_no_background XML, but I don't know where the main menu gets its button settings. :(

Edit: found it, whew... Thank you Notepad++...

Is there an upgrade for Dark UI 2.40 I didn't know about? Are you sure? If not that must be Gothic251's http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=11280 mod that you're referring too.

Right now I'm looking in the http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=1962 archive under this folder and found these files... DarNified Configs (Optional)\Smaller Buttons\menus\prefabs\3*.xml files (button_xtralong.xml, button_short.xml, button_long.xml).

Apparently--and I only just realized this today--DarkUId DarN is practically a direct update of Dark UI. I think when I thought I'd tried it in the past, I'd mistaken Phinix Immersive Dark UI for a literal mixing of Dark UI and Darnified UI, and not a new UI mod that combined aspects of the two. I'm already in love with DarkUId Darn because it has an in-game setting menu (by replacing the Stats tab) that allowed me to configure the HUD to something close to what I had with Immersive Interface. The only thing I'll have to get used to is the bright weapon and selected spell icons in the bottom-left corner. I think II also let met get rid of the text about where an activator led to... Yeah, so I'll have to learn to ignore those two things. I may even just figure out how to snip the text off the crosshair myself, and make a quick patch, similarly to what I've done with the buttons. I may want to increase the font a tad too...

Edit: Grrr... Waiting 3 hours to endorse is too long... :(

Edit: I have no clue where the activator text is stored... I'll have to look through Immersive Interface at some point. I might just be imagining that the text was gone anyway...
