(HELP) Vampire Question

Post » Tue Dec 13, 2016 11:04 am

I agree with the nords that all vampires are savage evil beings. However, I think Serana is the only good vampire out their and maybe her mother is good too. So I am 100% against the vampire prophecy Harkon is obsessed with but I am wondering if I join the vampires instead of the Dawnguard would I have to be with Harkon and kill Serana.

I also have a side question. I don't wanna be a vampire lord but I want to be a normal Vampire. I don't wanna be a vampire lord because I dont want to have a huge form like werewolf. So how do I become a vampire I know how (Its by getting infected by enough vampires) But can someone explain to me more how to become one and wheres the best place to become one. Also if I join the vampires do I have to be a vampire lord

The Court Wizard in Solitude is a vampire. Try visiting the Bloodlet Throne. It's kind of southeast of Falkreath in the mountains. I think there's a quest that will send you there to clear it out, but I can't remember if it is a random quest from a barkeep or what.

But where should I go to become a normal vampire and do I have to fulfill the prophecy if I join the vampires of Harkan or can I still go with Serana

Serana will stay by your side for the length of the questline, and after if you so choose.

Much like Lycantrophy's Beast Form, the Vampire Lord is required to complete the Volkihar side of Dawnguard. Just like with the Companion's, however, after the Initial Transformation you are never forced to change again. You are effectively a normal vampire until you CHOOSE to transform.

Also, even if you are a Vampire from a lesser bloodline, Harkon will override it with the Lord Bloodline if you side with Volkihar. There are many chances to contract vampirism from normal Vampires:

MORTHAL- Investigate the Burned House

SOLITUDE- Talk to the Court Mage for work.

EVERY CITY/TOWN- Wait for a Vampire raid to attack a settlement after dark.

You have to talk to Dengeir, the uncle of the current and former jarl of Falkreach.

He will first give you another mission, but after that send to the Throne.

Beside that, Bjorn the Werebear has it right: The vampire-lord is something you can change, but do not need to!

Spoiler

Harkon want the vampires do attack from a position of the butcher, but others, like Valerica want them to attack from a position of hide and masquerade.

In the end, you have to fight Harkon together with Serana. That will be your statement for the way of hiding! ... and being pro-Serana, of course!

I find Haemra's Shame to be the place most of my characters get infected, but that just happens, i don't "go" there to get infected...

There is another place

Spoiler
There is also Broken Fang cave outside out Whiterun on the way to Roikstead. There is only a master vampire and a couple of skeletons and another vampire there. Only a master vampire can make you a vampire. You have to keep dodging the attack until he gives you until you contract the vampire disease. Then kill him and in 3 days you will be a regular vampire. You can then join the vampire side.

You do not have to kill Serana to complete the Dawnguard questline on the vampire side.

If you join the vampires, Harkon will bite you and you'll be a vampire lord, even if you were only an ordinary vampire before. However, you don't have to have the vampire lord power to progress with the vampire side of the questline -- you just have to be a vampire. You must be a vampire to receive services or quests from the Volkihar, but not to speak with Serana and have her follow you (or for any quests where you're only interacting with her or Valerica). Conversely, you cannot be a vampire to receive quests and services from Dawnguard members (after "A New Order").

Serana can make you a vampire during "Chasing Echoes," although you'll receive the vampire lord power. Any vampire (but not some named vampire NPCs) can give you the vampire disease, but they must attack you with their vampire drain spell (the red crackling spell). If they infect you with Sanguinare Vampiris, you just need to wait three days and you'll turn into a vampire.

Vampires can be found at all http://en.uesp.net/wiki/Category:Skyrim-Places-Vampire_Lairs locations and also as part of some random encounters in the wilderness.

Not to forget the Redwater-Den. http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Skyrim:Redwater_Spring#Redwater_Spring

The den itself is east of Riften, and inside is a sping. Drinking from it, will infect you with Sanguinare Vampiris, but also other desiase.

If someone join the vampires, the fist quest from Harkon will be to go to the Redwater-Den. So it should be easy to learn it`s location. ;)
