HELP..wife control needs to be lifted

Post » Sat May 28, 2011 4:59 am

Hi all, i am a happily married 33yr old man who loves fallout 3, there just isnt enough hours in the day to play it.

BUT, my biggest problem is my wife, anytime i get free (which is rare btw) she contests me playing my beloved game.

Any help or advice would be much appreciated.

Be a man and tell her to shut up.

(or beg her if you can please please play some more)

And this is posted in the cheats and spoilers section why exactly?

Shouldn't she be making you a sandwich or something?

Let her play it too with a new save and she will be addicted to it too in no time. However then you gotta spend some money to buy a separate PC/console for her to play and god knows who cooks the dinner/breakfast then.

Tell her that you'll take her out to a really nice dinner at the end of the week if she leaves you alone.

Worked for me. I'm not married but my walled cried afterwards. One of the big downs of having to date three sisters.

I have the exact opposite for me. My fiance wants to play Fallout 3 every chance that she gets. She loves her RP character who is terrified of dying from the toxic air, and always wears a gasmask and iconoclast armor. (It doesn't help that the first things that she ran into upon leaving the vault, where she was told about the toxicity of the outside world, was a pack of feral ghouls. Then that cannibal town.)

But yeah, she always wants to play, though she thankfully lets me play from time to time. She also thinks that the mods that I am putting on are cool, but for some reason, she also [censored]es about them because she doesn't like modding games.

Does she have a hobby that she enjoys? Do you in any way prevent her from doing it? If so, let her do her hobby, and she'll let you do yours.

Buy her a computer to play Fallout 3 on too and order supper in. Introduce her to mods and do not complain when she makes a sixy guy with more muscles than you and spends all her free time ogling his butt. ;)

HAHAHA! Lol, that's great. :D

But in all seriousness: Yes, she should be.

Christ, dude. I don't know if that's something to be proud of. I never understood why people get married a bunch of times.

Judge not. If you haven't been there, you can't understand.

On Topic...OP, your only option is to explain to your SO why gaming is good for you. In my circumstance, I have a highly stressful position with a new company and it does me a world of good to come home after a 10-14 hour day and unwind with a good game. If I don't have that distraction, I don't unwind because my thoughts are still focused on how to develop and improve the company.

For me, gaming is (almost) a necessity. [Anyone can use that excuse if they feel the need, I hold no copyright or trademark] :biglaugh:

Well, I've been married for five years now and don't see that changing any time soon. I saw what divorce did to my brother and I honestly think you'd give up at the second try if things didn't work out like that.

EDIT: I agree with you on the unwinding thing. My husband gets stressed to hell and back at his job, so if he wants to play Dragon Age all night, I'm certainly not going to stop him.

This. There's no better way to satiate a woman's needs than stuff. Well, at least that's how I am because I'm a big fan of stuff. Mostly edible stuff, though. Or videocards.

I'm reporting this for two reasons.

1)It's not really anything to do with Fallout 3, is it?

2)Asking complete and anonymous strangers for advice of this kind is just asking for trouble.

Buy her one of her own. If she doesn't like FO3, get her Oblivion or Morrowind. Or, Sims.

Although there is bad advice in this thread. I see no harm in it. And it is about playing FO3 after all. Whatever you do, don't break up over a silly game.

Well, they get married, that fails, but they like being married so they get married again.

I suggest, that you tell her to go [censored] herself, but that's probably why I'm not married. Maybe you should just play it less?
