Better gameplay? In what sense is the gameplay on the xbox better than on the PC? And what prevents you from using your huge screen with your PC?

Get the PC version and use the xbox controller.

Well you are wrong about gameplay. the PC version has better gameplay due to mods, higher frames per second (smoother), much quicker load times, and more controller type options.

TV vs Monitor is opinion;; a nice big monitor will display extremely higher resolution than xbox360+ Huge screen version. (720p vs 1080p+)

If you've got a suitable PC, there is no reason not to get it for the PC; Better controls, possibly better graphics, better gameplay(due to mods), and as someone else already stated, you can hook your pc up to a tv if you want.

PC all the way, better all around IMO. You could also use your Xbox controller on the PC.

For the love of God, no caps please.

PC. Mods make the game so much better. Then, if it matters to you, you can hook the computer up to your TV and buy an xbox gamepad for your PC. It's basically like playing on the xbox, but with better graphics, FPS, mods and the console.

Plus, all the cool kids are on PC.

For the controller, go to your local gamestore and buy one there. It should simply connect through your USB, and there'll be a piece of driver software with it.

For the TV, try using an HDMI cable. If your computer doesn't take HDMI, you can by a transformer to put on the end which will make it fit into (I think) where the regular cable for a monitor goes. Not all that hard.

I would love to play on PC with Skyrim as the mods have such a significant impact on the game. I played Oblivion on the xbox360 and whilst I love the TV/comfort etc. the game did certainly feel lacking compared to when I placed Morrowind on the PC with all the user mods.

I have a Macbook pro and I don't think it will be fast enough to play Skyrim like the 360, so I'd have to buy a PC or gaming laptop, which isn't a monetary issue, more convenience. So.. I'm torn :(

I use an Afterglow 360 controller for my PC myself.

http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20100430210035AAY73VX that should guide you regardless of what brand 360 controller you use.

Get Skyrim for both. That's what I'm doing. I'm going to play it first on the console because of my low-end pc, but then switch to the pc and play mods/mod.

I am in the same situation. I haven't decided yet. I am gonna wait untill i know the system requirements, whether it will support joypad and how awful the DRM is gonna be.

PC
That way you can use mods... and more importantly, use the community made patches that will fix anything that Bethesda missed.

Gameplay is better on PC than console, why? I thought it depends on how much work BGS put into the console versions. IMO buy it for your 360 unless your willing to pay £1000 to upgrade your PC (If needed), if your PC is good then obviously get Skyrim for PC.

I mean is that even a question???
Don't get me wrong, Xbox is better choice for many-many games, but TES? Unmodded game lasts only 10% of what a modded game could last. With mods you get: better gameplay, better graphics, more items/weapons, more quests (many of which put the original quests to shame and some of them are even voiced), new towns, dungeons, companions etc, etc.

PC all the way.

Please, I don't know WHERE do you people get the idea that a powerful pc costs £1000? Where I live, I can get a high-end laptop for less than £500

I will buy it for Xbox first due to a computer that will not run V later (a year or 2) I will buy it for PC once I have upgraded my PC and those who understand making good mods have built some good ones

PC for several reasons.
-Mods.
-Graphics
-Since you're close to the PC you can hear the soundtrack better(From personal experience anyway)
-Screenshots, you can record stuff etc(Also possible on the 360 but takes a lot more effort)
-Did I mention mods? :D

PC, hook up a TV to it and use a controller if you want.

The mods make the entire game last a lot longer. Better visuals, (even if it doesnt use DX11 it will still look great). Better performance, and just an overall better experience IMO.

Know of a good place to buy gaming base units? just the base units, specifically tailored for games. There's alot of sites out there that let you build them by selecting drop down lists. I know there will be, but are there sites with dedicated pre-made ones that are any good?

If your PC can handle the new TES then get it on that. If not, you can upgrade it for about 400 pounds, or just buy it for the console. Just don't get the new TES on a PC you know will not handle it, it will ruin your experience.

Also, I have a 42' TV in my room with both my PC and PS3 plugged into it. It's not hard, you just connect them...
