Hello. I am writing a short story for my English class and I wanted to do some type of elder scrolls themed fan fiction story. However I am worried about copyright issues or however that stuff works...any ideas? can I change the settings a bit? I do have an idea of writing about my RP character in the imperial dungeon and his escape but I wanted it to be similar to oblivions tutorial to that I could base it off something and make it easier to write. help!

As long as you're not trying to get it published without company permission, or trying to make money off it by any other means, then I should think you have nothing to worry about. And hey, when you're finished with it and you have time, go ahead and post it here, too! Fan fiction is always fun to read. Good luck. :D

Given that this is for class, you should really try writing something of your own. You can still base it in the ES world, but retelling the chargen dungeon won't give your teacher any idea of how you handle plot progression (or anything else you choose to keep).

I will just be basing it around a dungeon escape. I will add in my own parts and add other conflicts within the story. I will focus alot more on telling the story of the main character too.
