Somehow I managed to screwup something in my dialogue for a specific quest, this is making it so that the GECK crashes anytime I try to edit a dialogue (I can load my backup and edit just fine) likewise in-game, if I select what I suspect to be the trouble dialogue I get CTD, however this doesn't happen in my backup.

I was trying to just copy over the quests from my backup into the broken (but more updated) .esp file using FNVEdit. However it always wants me to to make my backup a Master File of my broken .ESP and doesn't let me see the 2 .ESP files side by side to just copy things from one of my.esp files to the other. IS there a way to do this that I'm not seeing? I'm fairly certain that's the error, but I'm not even seeing any issues in FNVEdit. I would prefer to do it this way than to redo the 6 hours of work I've lost, which I will do if I have to, I'd just prefer not to.

Most likely the dialog you are drag and dropping references other elements in the broken mod.

You could :

backup both versions of the mod in a safe place.

load the ok mod before the broken one.

make the ok mod a master of the broken one.

change any reference(s) in the dialog you want by the corresponding reference(s) in the ok plugin.

then drag and drop again.

Or you could use "Compare to...", just make sure the editable version of the mod is the one you want to keep.

The GECK should automatically have a backup folder which has 10 previous versions of the esp's you've been working on, if your lucky you might be able to grab a version without the issue.
